Goodell and that's it. I love his discipline.

Yes, it's very obvious that interleague and interleague alone is keeping MLB afloat.

I'm sure there are a lot of fans that would love to see a hard salary cap be imposed on just the Yankees. It's obvious to me that the fans would like this. Because the fans like it, it must be good for MLB.

Allright, fine, let's have every NFL team play one AFL team (at the AFL stadium using AFL rules) every season. Better?

That's my exact point as well.. I just posted before a very very simple way to get every team in the same division to play the same schedule. I guess we'd just have to take our chances with the wild card then, but my goal is the most practical idea, that's easy to implement and won't ruin MLB. Eliminating interleague is just so simple.

That idea is completely impractical. Can you show me how any idea I've proposed has been impractical in any way?

Big fan of Goodell. I like how he handled the Vick/Pacman/Tank situation and completely agree with his quote about the rookie contracts.

                    Except contribution to the discussion.

I have to be honest, your total condescension throughout this entire topic makes it difficult for me to carry on this discussion with you in the first place.

Re: Do you have any respect for any pro league commish?

God this AFL comparison is making me sick.

This is not the same, there is a substitution rule (DH) that is slightly different in baseball. NFL and AFL are 2 completely different games. Restrictions on actual on the field rules on what players are allowed to do. Only 1 LB in a certain position is allowed to blitz. LB not allowed to leave a "box" on the field. This is entirely different than the pitcher has to bat in 1 league, or he has a free substitution and has someone play offense for him. The way you score is no different the on the field rules are no different. Its not like the pitcher is forced to stay on the mound and can never field a ground ball or cover 1st base in 1 league and the other he can.

So as far as your argument for that comparison, Mr. TheGamingChef, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul!

I agree, but i wonder if its because he's younger than the other commishes. Tagliabue (sp?) was older, Selig, Stern, bettman all are, i wonder if its the lawyer in Goodell or what, but i like how he is handling this

I like what Goodell has been doing with the discipline stuff, but I am waiting to see how he handles the labor dispute that is brewing until I make a full judgment.

I used to like what Stern was doing with the NBA until recently. The gambling/game fixing was handled poorly, and the whole mess with the Sonics has been awful.

Selig has been about 50/50. For every good thing he does, he seems to do something stupid. But I do feel that he does make decisions with the best interest of the game in mind. Sometimes I just disagree with them.

As for Bettman, I think the fact that the NHL is on Vs. speaks for itself.
                          MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
                          NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
                          NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
                          NBA: Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic
NCAA: Penn State Nittany Lions, Boston College Eagles

Re: Do you have any respect for any pro league commish?

Bettman by far is the worst, how he still has a job is beyond my comprehension. Goodell focused on image, and can be good. He still sucks for re-upping the exclusive with EA. But Bettman sucktitude far surpasses that and I am a 2k Football fanboy. Selig does more good than bad. Interleague, while it has its naysayers is a huge sucess overall. I think they need to balance schedules out more, at least everyone in the same division has to face the same teams. Like the NL east has to play everyone in the AL central or something to that effect. The Wild Card was also a huge success. But you have the steroid scandal, the handling of the Bonds situation. The "tie" at the ASG a few years back. Giving HFA in the World series to the winner of ASG. (why this isnt just given to the team wiht the better record, with a runs differential in the event a tiebreak is needed is also beyond my comprehension) Selig could be better, but he also could be Bettman.

Stern. I love college Ball but am indifferent to the NBA. maybe follow a little if the Sixers are any good. but the fact that i enjoy the sport but cant get into the professional league has to say something about the commish, and what it says isnt good.
