Re: College Presidents Want Drinking Age Lowered...
It doens't matter if an individual abuses a substance or not. It is their body, it is their right to do as they please...UNTIL...they violate another individuals liberty and freedom.
An individual might use his truck as a weapon. Should we ban trucks on suspicion?
An individual might use his gun to murder an innocent civilian. Should we ban guns?
An individual might abuse over-the-counter meds and get behind the wheel and mow down a family of four. Should we ban meds?
You punish the criminal for actually committing the crime, not because they might commit the crime.
High school kids aren't responsible, most of the time, enough to be able to purchase alcohol. Hell I'm still probably not responsible enough. But I guarantee you I was a lot worse 3 years ago.
Alcohol is a privilege, not a right.Twitter

Uh, what do you mean kids like me? I've never once driven a vehicle drunk or done anything to put myself or anyone else in danger. I'd be a little more selective with your words.Comment

Didn't you say you got caught with alcohol? 9 times out of 10, you have to be doing something unreasonably stupid to get in trouble (don't start jmood).Comment

Re: College Presidents Want Drinking Age Lowered...
If it's a privilege then there has to be a way to lose the privilege to drink. Outside of prohibition (and being incarcerated and such), I can't think of a way for a person to lose their "privilege" to drink. Unless you consider a working liver a privilege, in which case I'll have to concede.Comment

Maybe some of you guys should watch this. It appears some of you don't know a thing about liberty and freedom. And that's a damn shame, considering our founding fathers faught and died to protect such things.Comment

Re: College Presidents Want Drinking Age Lowered...
In most states, you are considered an adult at 18. You should be able to drink as well IMO. Also, the legal drinking age used to be 18 in many states before the ever-growing federal government decided to force states to make it 21 or face federal funds being taken away from their state.Comment
