    No chance.............

As a Cubs,Bears,Bulls,Hawks and Irish fan I could never stop rooting for them or change my loyalties. There is just something wrong with that in my mind. I am a fan through the best and the worst of times...............obviously.

I actually got courtside seats a couple of times that year for darn near 40 bucks a seat. I liked the fact that it did not cost an arm and a leg for tickets.

You'll be back when they start winning again, just like all the other fans that are "Officially ending" their support right now.

I'm pretty close to saying GTFO to Spurs, but other than that I've stuck by my teams.

I stopped watching the NFL after the Browns moved in 1995. I didn't watch any games in 96 or 97 except for the playoffs. In 1998 I watched a few more games to get reacquainted with the league. I used to watch NFL Primetime every week before the move, but since then I rarely watch recap shows.

Re: Have you ever stopped rooting for one of your teams?

For me I never stop rooting for my teams, but I have stopped caring sometimes. The hardest for me is when your NFL team has the capabilty to go to playoffs or even beter but you have a ******** Coach and no QB. I will never stop loving my Vikings but they have had the same luck for as long as I remember. The 1998 season is the season that I will never forget. So close.

Miami U have had good seasons up till the last couple so I am not to disapointed, I like the way the team is set up and hope for good things.

The NJ Nets have been the ones that I shrug my shoulders and say who cares anymore. I have watched them but never really paid much attention to them for years now, NBA has always taken a back seat for me. NCAA BB is beter IMO. Syracuse also has broken my heart in BB.

Not really. The closest I've came though is with the Knicks. The lockout killed a lot of my interest in the NBA and then with the incompetence of Layden and then Thomas I stopped following the team and rarely would watch a game. I'm starting to gain back some interest now though. I know they will still suck for a couple of years, but at least they are trying to get better now and with D'Antoni running the team should be fun to watch.

Re: Have you ever stopped rooting for one of your teams?

I've liked the Pats, Sox, and Celtics my entire life, I've liked the Longhorns since I started watching college football 6 or 7 years ago - no nope.

The Bruins, for me, are an interesting case. I don't really root for them, but that's because I've never taken the time to watch hockey. I support them (I've been to 5 or 6 B's games in my life) and they're my hometown team so I'll root for them if I catch a game, but I'm not a big enough hockey fan at the moment. I'm hoping to change that this season, though, as I've been trying to keep up with the Bruins' games.

No, but I have rooted for us to lose because I thought it would get UVA a new football coach... sadly we won the game and I realized Al Groh would only go if he's six feet under.

So in reality I didn't stop rooting for the team... I was just rooting for a new coach.

I think a lot of Knicks' fans, including me, went through this exact same thing. The NBA as a whole and the Knicks being terrible was the kiss of death for a lot of Knick fans (not to mention Ewing's departure). There comes a point where you are a fool if you waste your time watching a terrible franchise with no hope in sight as the Knicks were the last few years.

I'm a grown man with a ton of responsbilities and not a ton of free time. I'm not going to waste it watching a team like the Knicks' of the last five years. Sure, I'd watch about five games a year but that was it. I still have the same love the franchise as I did fifteen years ago though - I'm very excited for this season and the Walsh/D'Antoni era.

Nope, but I've changed the amount I care about teams.

Between 02-05 or so the Jets were #1, Yankees #2, Knicks a close #3, UConn basketball #4, and I barely cared about UConn football.

Now UConn basketball is by far #1, Yankees #2, UConn football just behind them at #3, Jets a distant #4, and I've barely cared about the Knicks the last couple years though I am somewhat excited for this season.

I was a huge Knick ***** in the '90s, so I became a big fan of the Pacers. It was a lot of fun rooting for them because they weren't as good as the Bulls and Magic, but they were there year in, year out. The riot in Detroit didn't bother me and I've always been a fan of Ron Artest, but once Reggie Miller retired I stopped caring. They're not my team anymore and tbh, I don't have an NBA team. I still watch and follow it, but I don't have a rooting interest.

I have yet to stop following any teams so far. I don't think I could do it ... I just have too much allegiance to let it fall through the cracks. The only team I like that hasn't been doing well is the Carolina Panthers (and the Rays before this season), but now they are doing well once again after two bad years. Jeff Gordon hasn't won a championship since 2001 (ah ... how I miss his years of domination ), but I'm not going to stop supporting him due to that.

I like Gordon too. Lost interest in NASCAR for the most part. Still check up on it here and there, but can't sit and watch a whole race.
