So what's the weather like where you live?

Live in the outskirts of eastern Tampa and we seemed to have made it through the worst, still have power for now and missed the 100mph winds in the eye by about 10 miles or so. Hope everyone down south is okay, definitely thought that destruction was coming to Tampa instead the way they had it drifting off the coast at first.

In Sarasota county and I can definitely say we got lucky. Glad we were prepared, but this was the outcome I was hoping for. Finally lost power late last night, but honestly had it for a lot longer than we thought we would. Still some strong gusts here and there with rain. Not in a flood zone but I hope these storm surges they kept talking about aren't crazy.

We did ok here in my area of St Lucie, with Fort Pierce to the north getting tons of rain and stronger winds. Just have some tree/shrub damage with the aluminum/panel roof coming off my backyard swing area. Still, could have been a lot worse, especially with the track earlier in the week wanting to slam a cat 4 into the east coast. I hope all fellow Floridian OS'rs are safe and got through it ok, keep safe friends.

I'm good too and so is everyone I know. Glad you other OS'ers are good as well. I haven't yet made it back to my apartment to see the damage but I'm optimistic it's fine. A friend of mine who stayed in public shelter drove around my area and said there's a lot of trees down and debris in the road and street signs crooked but no serious flooding or major structural damage of houses and buildings that he saw, which is pretty much what it's like where I'm at now.

From everything I've heard it seems the state caught a major break. Some localized areas got hit bad(I hear Naples and key west got slammed, serious flooding in Jacksonville too) but it could've been much worse. It weakened a lot after hitting land and it didn't take that coastal track which would've been devastating because of the storm surge. And fortunately something caused the southern eye wall to fall apart and be pretty much non existent. The damage would've been much worse if it were a closed loop, even in Naples/Marco island where it hit as a cat 3.

Pretty crappy here in GA. We're getting "Tropical Storm" Irma. Lots of wind and rain. Wind is blowing pretty strong, went outside during my lunch break and almost got tipped over.

Thankfully dry air ate away at the southern side so we didn't get a kick in the ***. I remember Wilma's other side being stronger coming in due to strengthening over the everglades.

Finally got back to my apartment and it's fine. Seems like the biggest thing Irma did for the majority of people is make things extremely inconvenient. Still no power in most places around me(my apartment luckily does), cell service is horrible, no gas and a shortage of supplies at the grocery. Im not sweating it though it could've been 100x worse

As fall approaches, summer is giving us one last heat wave.

looks like we will be getting a Tropical Storm on Tuesday and Wednesday in Southern New England. Cape cod and the Islands will get it the worst.

For the first day of Fall on Friday, temps will be 90 degrees.

Gonna make a pot of chili and get my hoodie out.

She blew up so fast. From tropical storm to cat 5 hurricane in like 26 hours. The Atlantic is on roids this season. Doesn't appear like the US will get a direct hit at this point though but still too early. I feel for the people in the leeward islands and Puerto Rico.

Oh well, rather have it now than in July, at least this time of year it can cool down at night
