It looks like some of you are getting absolutely hammered by 1-2 inches of freezing rain. We've had 1/2 inch of it before and it was damaging, knocked out power, and knocked down of trees. Two inches would be devastating. Then some of those same areas are supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow on top of that. That will destroy a ton of trees.

This is the most freezing rain I've seen in North America (that I've heard about, anyways) since that epic Montreal event with 4+ inches of it back in 1998.

Class got canceled today thanks to less than 1/10th of an inch of ice! Hopefully the same happens tomorrow!

We are out of school again on Wednesday too. It's still snowing also.

We're seeing a "wintery mix" followed by temperatures dropping into the mid-low 20s.

Essentially, weather channel should just put up an icon that says "LOL DRIVERS!!!11!!!"

I'm thinking my only class tomorrow will get canceled due to the weather which is unfortunate because I'm incredibly bored.

looks like we are suppose to get 5 to 8 inches here in north central ohio. looks like my wife will get another snow day tommorow. that will be here 5th one already and its not even february,one of the great perks for her, for being a teacher

I'm loving this strange weather we've seen in Oklahoma the past couple of years. 70 degrees one week, the next week we're off of school because of an ice storm.

It's raining right now and 37 degrees. By morning (5 AM) it's supposed to change to a wintry mix of sleet and snow with 1-2" expected.

I hope class gets canceled.

The lowest it's been here in the last 2 weeks which was today was 60 degrees cloudy to which made it nice. Average has been 75 and sunny. Very beautiful

Freezing rain, sleet. Classes got cancelled. Lost power for about 2-4 hours. Gotta love Oklahoma.

Paducah, KY is absolutely getting NAILED. They've got limbs falling all over houses and power is out everywhere. That would suck.

BTW that street on the first photo just had power lines strewn across it as did many other streets. It was tough trying to avoid them.

Being well known for their meterological work, Duke Energy is gladly going with the fear-mongering approach and saying they are preparing for what could potentially be the "worst ever" ice storm to hit the Greater Cincinnati area. If my power goes out because of this, then I'll agree with them. And, with the damage from the Ike windstorm late last summer still fresh in everyone's minds, I think folks in the area are praying Mother Nature gives us all a break. I haven't been outside since coming home from work around 1 PM, but the roads look like mirrors and the snow has a very glassy sheen to it. We're supposed to continue to get the wintry mix overnight and it'll be snow as it nears sunrise. Can't wait until the morning commute. Should be fun!

We've been suprisingly dry here in the Cities for the last two weeks, not to mention the two recent heat waves (upper 20s FTW!).

Still can't get my damn lights down as there's snow and ice up on the roof and two of the spots I have to place the ladder remain snow and ice packed...though the driveway is dry!
