Why in the world would you tip someone 8 or 10 dollars for a pizza? So you are saying that you give a 50 percent tip? That's crazy. 3 or 4 bucks is a lot especially considering they charge you a delivery fee anyway. I take into consideration the distance and the price of gas, but no way I'm giving them more than 4 bucks.

I do it because I'm a Server/Bartender. Plus being a former delivery driver, we have to pay for our own gas.

I don't know, it just doesn't take more than a couple bucks to go anywhere in this town. I guess that is part of my perception.

When you work with the people and they are delivering to you, of course I'm going to tip that well.

I'm getting a discount so I'm essentially paying the same thing but that money is going to the driver instead of the store. 'Technically', you're not supposed to get your discount for delivery (only carry out).

I wouldn't tip a Pizza Hut driver that much just because A) no discount B) I don't work with them

I found out that yesterday, they are decreasing what we get per delivery. Currently we get $1.35 each run but as of December 1st, we are going to a system that's determined by what gas is at the time. As long as it stays under $2.50/gallon, we'll only get $1.00.

That $0.35 per run is going to add up considering I take probably 80 deliveries a week.

Sign of the times right there, bro. I delivered pizzas all through college, 1996-2000. They paid us .50 a run back then. I was able to negotiate a bump up to 1.00 a run though because I could usually take twice as many runs as everyone else. I was pretty damn good at that job.

I tip at restaraunts well, but the pizza guy doesnt get much. Most places is like a 3 buck delivery fee, and im not paying another 5 bucks on top of that. A few bucks (depending on size of order)

I tip well to try to "make up" for someone else's failure to leave an apporpriate tip.

I usually tip $2. More times then not I just go and pick it up myself. There a few pizza places within a couple miles of my house that I can go to.

Same here. If I get pizza, I usually pick it up myself.

One thing I don't understand about people who tip a percentage at a resturant, why? If I order something that's $7 bucks compared to something that say is, $13... the server didn't work any harder on bringing me out my $7 buck meal then he did my $13. I usually start with a set amount and add or subtract accordingly.

Ordering pizza is really getting too expensive. it's usually comes out to about $16 or $17 for a freakin' pizza that usually takes well over an hour to get to me anyway. I prefer driving 5 minutes to Little Caesars and getting a large for $5.

Cost of the food is rising so the prices have to go up.

When I started at Papa John's last December, I think of a box of cheese cost us $25. Recently, it's gone up to $40 a box. We had to raise the price on a cheese pizza to cover that.

Sad part is, our portion chart has actually started to screw the customer because we charge cheese as a one topping pizza but you're only getting half a cup of cheese more on your pizza compared to any other one topping pizza (which gets two cups)

1 Large Cheese Pizza:
$9.99 - 3 cups of cheese
$12.99 - 3 cups of cheese
$12.99 - 2.5 cups of cheese

If I'm on the makeline, I always put three cups still just because the pizza looks bare.

nuttin...i dont tip them fools. its what they get for not hiring me and one time they messed up my pizza yea i ated it and they wouldnt give me my money back? ok yea me and pizza isnt on good terms i dont tip at all.
