I'm pretty sure everyone on earth aside from you has read 1984. It's a great book, but don't be the guy who references it anytime the government does anything.

The Revolution: A Manifesto by Ron Paul.

I think every American should read that book.

Just curious, where do those of you that read a lot get your books from? Do you go somewhere like Barnes & Noble, Half Price Books, or just go to the library?

Band of Brothers is good. Another great book by Ambrose is "Undaunted Courage". It's all about the Lewis and Clark expedition, focusing mostly on Lewis and President Jefferson.

I just have the New York Review Books Classics edition and I thought it was well done. I would love to read it in Russian, but my Russian couldn't even get me through a childrens book.

                    Re: Books and reading

I don't like too many books, but my favorites are 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, Martian Chronicles, ect.

Basically, my favorite books were made during the middle of the 20th century and usually have a political meaning to them.

That's not to say I don't like any other books, but my favorites are all these sorts of book. I recently read Dead Heat by Joel C. Rosenburg and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

If I had to pick a favorite, though, it would be 1984. It's a must read IMO.

I haven't read 1984 but I loved Animal Farm. I found it in a class one day in high school and starting reading it instead of listening to the teacher.
