How are the Westinghouse LCD's? I haven't read up on those to much. You Know how consumers get boggled with all the mainstream Brands...

My HD is 10,000 rpm and I run everything sata. IDE is outdated now.

Well see that is the thing it is a animal and reads so quickly. But I am not postive what is lowering my score. Maybe the size of it?

I mean the score means jack ****. but just screwed up my perfect score

I just installed quite a few titles. So my HD is filling up, a second HD is about to go in.

I also just got Red Alert 3. It is pretty decent, sooooo fast though.

I have always been a AMD fan. Every system I built I used AMD. This past build I went with the Intel Quad and let me tell ya stay away from the phenom's. Intel is F-ing FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is release day for the Phenom II. So who's picking one up? I'm trying to figure out if I should hold out on scooping a new motherboard now or pick it up closer to the summer when the Socket AM3 has been out. I'm so ready to do PC gaming.

                Need some help here:

Don't really know the difference between Core Duo, Core Duo 2 and Quad.

Anyway, just trying to get a rig that will run the upcoming Empire total war on high settings.

Currently, I am contemplating getting the below system. Except that I need a 9800 series card I am told instead of the 9500 series video card.

                CPU
                : Intel® Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz E8400 CPU w/Fan
                Motherboard : ASUS P5QL PRO Intel® P43, PCI-Ex, 3 PCI
                Memory : 8GB DDR2 PC6400 800Mhz Memory

Hard Drive : 500GB 7200RPM Ultra Fast Serial ATA300 Hard Drive
                DVDRW/CDRW : 22X LG Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Drive w/NERO
Network Card : 1Gbit Fast Ethernet Network Adapter
Sound Card : 8 channel HD Sound Adapter
Case : Black Mid Tower AGI 350watt Power Supply
                Ports : 8 USB 2.0 Ports, Serial

                  Ok this is kinda easy

The core duo & core duo 2 are the same. The first one was their first dual core proc. The core duo 2 is the same thing. Same front side bus, but slightly faster clock speeds.

                  Core duo/ core duo 2 - Dual core = 2 cores
                  Quad core = 4 cores

Go quad core for sure and go 9800GT or higher. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT go 9500. You won't run it on medium lol. The 9500GT will barly break 30 frames per sec on crysis at 1024x768 (which is low res).

Oh I just also saw you going to need a better Powersupply for sure. I think the 8800's and up require at least 400W powersupply. Plus you are going to be running a multi-core proc. I would at the min go with a 500W.

I am holding off until next fall I think. Since 2k didn't make a baseball game there is no reason except nba 2k9....and I am hoping 2k10 will be better. So I am holding off for now. I have my PC bundle as a wishlist with new egg....it is priced at 1500 right now. I am hoping if I wait until fall I will save a few hundred bucks.

So what is technically, the better/faster computer a 3.0 Ghz duo core or a 2.4 Ghz quad core?

Also what is the best route to get the best gaming system under $800?

Quad by far. Plus Intel overclocks very well. So if you were not happy with the Q6600 2.4 per core, it easily overclocks to 3.0 per core.

I am not sure what you mean the best route, NEWEGG if you refering to buying parts, Quad core if you refering to which proc, and a home built system if you are talking about per built compared to mfg built.

To give you a reference the Xbox360 has 3 cores at 3.2 ghz each. But has 512 ram

The PS3 has 7 working cores at 3.2 ghz. but only has 256 system ram and 256 graphic ram.

But a Quad core 2.4 will smoke both the PS3 and 360 as of now. The PS3 could do more if they can figure out the system a little better.

As you can see on this page the Q6600 for the price per dollar for power is very good. Also 2800 5 star reviews is a pretty solid stand point on the proc

The top custom gaming PC builder. Build your dream gaming PC or laptop here. Fully customized with the best high performance component selection and prices.

801 w/ free shipping and no sales tax if you are outside of california. You can take the sound card out if you want, but i prefer a card to onboard. Or you can build it yourself, might save a bit since DDR2 is so damn cheap now and 512mb 4870's seem to be pretty cheap.

Personally I am building an i7 920 rig from there with the 1GB HD4870 since theres a 5% off for purchases over 999, it brings the cost to about 100 bucks less than if I was to get the same parts from newegg and build it myself.

I think we have the same TV bball.

Just added a 32' Samsung to my setup, moved my other BenQ over to the PC to complete the dual display. I think I'm good for at least 6 months now.
