Last/Longest Road Trip You've Taken

Just curious to see when the last time my fellow OS Travelers went on a road trip and where.

Last road trip I went on was last summer when I went to Florida for a week with my family.

Left here on Saturday Morning about 8 and stopped over in Charlotte for the night before getting up at 8 the next morning and driving from there to Miami. It was about a 18 hr round trip.

Right now, I'm planning on going to Jacksonville in 2 weeks to see other family down there and to attend the Packers-Jaguars game as well.

But I'll be making the drive by myself this time. I'm trying to decide if I should leave early Saturday morning and drive straight there or leave here Friday night, stay in NC for the night and then hop back on the road Saturday morning.

But anyway, what about you guys? Any road trips planned in the future for you?

Longest I've ever taken would be to Estes Park, Colorado. Only like 10 hours from KC.

I've never taken a road trip, longest I've gone (that I remember) is like 2 hours to San Diego...which doesn't even qualify as a road trip.

Last road trip was back in July to Orlando, Florida. About an eight hour drive or so from Athens, GA.

When I lived up in Hurricane, WV, we used to make the 16 hour trip down to Spring Hill, FL where my grandparents lived. Then we started flying since we can fly free (one of the perks of your dad being an airline pilot! ).

This summer, I traveled down about 11 hours south to Spring Hill to see my then-ailing Grandpa. I wanted to drive just for fun, but then I got stuck in Atlanta traffic and regretted it.

Longest would be driving from Dallas up through Arkansas and Missouri, then up through Michigan and from Detriot into Canada....through Canada until we got to Niagara Falls....and then drove all the way home from there non-stop (back to Dallas). All in about a weeks time.

It was a long trip.

Longest: 20 hours to Tampa

Last - 5 hour trip from Detroit to Chicago to see a Cubs game and a White Sox game with my dad in August.

Longest - 14 hour trip from Detroit to Philly (saw a Phils game and then went to Pittsburgh and saw two Pirates games vs the Tigers)

Longest road trip I was on was a 7 hour drive from griffin GA, to gatlinburg Tennessee.

Longest Road Trip/Camping Trip was with my cousin and his friends. We started in Illinois, through Iowa, up South Dakota into North Dakota, through Canada (where everyone we talked to was from Winnipeg and they were fascinated with Al Capone (I grew up in the Berwyn/Cicero area)), down through Minnesota and Wisconsin and back to Illinois.

Last: Drove from Pensacola to Pattison, MS, last Tuesday. Took around 5 1/2 hours.
Longest: Drove from Fort Walton Beach, FL, to Dallas. I can't remember how long it took, though.

Last one I took was to New York... about 7 hours both ways.

Longest? Canton, Ohio. 10 hours both ways. Plus i was about 7-8 years old... and this was in the days when having a gameboy was rare..

Last- Drove to Norman, OK to see UNC play Oklahoma several years ago. It's been a long time since I actually drove anywhere for a trip.

Longest- Family trip from Goldsboro, NC to the Grand Canyon. Long trip, we took over two weeks crossing the country and coming back. Good trip though, got to see a lot of the country.

The last one I took was to Bay Minette, AL last summer, about 12 hours, unless you count an hour and half drive to see the Thunder play (bad decision) as a road trip.

I pretty much drive to Vail and Alabama once a year each, they're both about 12 hour trips. This year we're not driving to Vail, we're just flying up to Utah for a few days. And for Spring Break skiing we drive to Taos, NM to ski, but it's only about a 10 hour trip.
