I actually just had a pint last night (bottled) at another bar and it is unbelievably awesome beer. I am going to be drinking this on tap all night tomorrow!
High five! That stuff is nectar of the gods. A few years ago when I first had it I made a point to pick up some every week for the entire summer. Hopefully your German pub serves it in one of those cool Aventinus glasses.

      I can't believe i found some
Great Lakes 29 Edmund Fitzgerald Porter
      5.80% ABV

The head is very nice and creamy. It's a rich chocolate, roasted malt and just the slightest bit of coffee at the end. There are also very small periods where caramel sweetness comes through. This is ONE EXCELLENT PORTER fellaz & ONE of my Faaavs

They did have the Aventinus glasses! It was awesome! That stuff is great in a bottle, but on tap it is just INSANELY good. It tastes like someone took a loaf of the freshest, tastiest banana nut bread like grandma used to make, poured a little alcohol in it and made beer out of it. It is one of my new favorites!

I can get that stuff (and any other Great Lakes beer) at my corner store less than 200 feet away from me at any time. But then again, I'm so used to that stuff that it isn't even special to me anymore. I'm not big on Porters, but that is one of the best in the world from what people tell me. Great Lakes' IPA (Commodore Perry) totally sucks though. Avoid it at all costs.

Went to Spirits this afternoon, asked about Dogfish Head and apparently they don't carry it 'regularly'. The guy said every once in a while they might get some but its not often. I'm kicking myself now for not getting any when I was in there a couple weeks ago and they had a few.

On the other hand, I did get a variety 4-pack for pre-gaming with tonight.

              2-Sam Adams Imperial White
              1-The Great Divide Yeti Imperial
1-Lazy Magnolia Deep South Ale(appropriately title Reb Ale)

The Reb Ale is new. The guy working the register hadn't even tried it yet. Definitely anxious to crack that one open.

Tried the Great Divide Titan IPA on tap at Old Chicago during UFC 101. Also tried the Green Flash West Coast IPA... both were very good, though I'd prefer the Titan simply because the bitterness wasn't so overwhelming. The Green Flash had a very interesting taste to it, but the lingering bitterness was enough to knock it down a peg below the Titan.

Neither one touched the 90-Minute IPA in my view. I'd take the Titan over the Odell IPA probably, but they're all right there. Very nice beers, looked great and I killed 4 of them relatively quickly (had a Great Divide Double Wit, which was good also) and was pretty sloshed. Anderson Silva looked even more like The Matrix in my state haha..

                  really?

Yuengling Lager is as common as Bud here, and Fat Tire must have just hit our area hard, as even common convenience store beer aisles have it now.

Having recently picked up a bottle of Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout, I felt like giving this a go-round. Not quite on the level of Smith, but a great beer nonetheless. Got a pretty good tan head on it as well that wore away pretty quick. Definitely recommended.

Yeah man, once you've had the Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout there is no going back. That is the best of the best as far as oatmeal stouts are concerned.

Had these two over the last couple days.

Harpoon's IPA - It is so so, but I am not a huge fan of IPA's

Shiner Commentator 100 - Not really digging it either.

I am stopping today and get me a Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout

I had some Sweetwater Donkey Punch in B'Ham this past weekend, my favorite beer now. They had it on tap and it was so damn good. It's got a high ABV(10%) but it isn't heavy by any means.

I doubt I'll ever find it in stores anywhere, but if you live in Birmingham, J. Clyde's has it. Along with every other beer you could imagine. Outstanding place to go to.
