I've always liked Hoegaarden a bit more than Blue Moon myself. They're both very tasty in the summer time though. I also tried that Noble Pils the other day and thought it was just okay, nothing special at all. A bit bland to me. Now the Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier is extremely tasty to me, but I can only drink one or two because it starts to get too sweet.

Personally, for the summer, I go Hefe Weizen. A couple of my favorites that you can find in most liquor stores (at least around here) are Summit (St. Paul, MN) and Sierra Nevada (Chico, CA). But many local breweries produce some form of it, and they can be outstanding.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 03-24-2010, 11:41 AM.Comment

SA Noble Pils is great for what it is, a pilsner. I support just about anything Sam Adams puts out as it's usually the best choice at most restaurants. Noble Pils is perfect for washing down some wings.
I should be tapping into my bottle of Boulevard's Rye on Rye tonight. Rye beer aged in whisky barrels. Report to come.Comment

My god that Oak-Aged Espresso Yeti Imperial Stout was just ridiculous with the chocolate cannabutter cake I made the other night. The beer was good on its own, but it really set off the chocolate -- the head looked like the crema on a good espresso shot... beautiful stuff.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Nah, I'll put the pics up soon... it was just 2 nights ago, so they're still in my camera. I almost forgot about the Flickr feed... I need to get the bread I've been making up there as well as all the stuff I made with the pork from the Whole Hog butchery class I took. I've mostly just been putting the food pics up on Facebook...Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Damn...had to clear the cobwebs off this thread. anyway, got to try some flying dog old scratch amber lager this past weekend.
This is my sentiments exactly:
Appearance: Very attractive mahogany colored, clear beer. Had a respectable, stable head of off-white.
Smell: Chocolate and caramel notes; nutty. A malty note of molasses. Rich and enticing—mouth-watering.
Taste: Nutty and malty with a dry character from some roasted malts. Nice neutral hop profile—bitter and present, but takes a backseat to the malt.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with an almost smoky feel, and a dry finish.
Overall: Lots of roast nuttiness here that I’m digging; very tasty.
I approve this beverage fellaz

Does freezing beer do anything to it?
2 bottles of beer got left in my friends freezer for a week. One of them it expanded so much the glass broke, the other just froze so we left it out some then put it in the fridge to finish thawing. Will it taste horrible now?Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I've had bad frozen beer before, as in a bad beer, not bad because it was frozen. It was just bud light which was frozen by mistake, and since it was a can, it just expanded and didn't explode. I thawed in in the fridge for a couple days. When I drank it, it tasted the same to me, but it's not like bud light has any taste anyways, so that might have been a part of it.My football alliances: E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles AND Hokie Hokie Hokie HiComment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Honey Moon is out now. That is pretty good, but I'm a big Blue Moon fan. Has anybody tried Fat Tyre? I don't think its available in VA (or at least not the last time I checked).
