Thats the reason I have posted in this thread in so long. I switched to clear liquor such as Gin and Tonic or white wine.

Wine is terrible when you're trying to lose weight though. All those natural sugars can catch up to you.

Yep, it's horrible. I've gained 40lb since August of 08, and I only really started drinking beer in the last year or so. Argh.

I was 239 at my biggest and I am down to 227 right now. I'm trying to get between 210-215 just by losing gut weight and then I want to get back up to around 225 by building muscle in my arms and chest.

7 or 8 posts in a row and no talk of specific beers?? For shame...

There's a local place here that, in cooperation with another company, brews their own beer. One of them is a belgian white called Sun Sphere and it is amazing. Only 6.5% ABV so you can have quite a few in one sitting.

Yeah man, it's like a slightly lower alcohol content version of steel reserve. Both taste like garbage but will "mess u up" haha.

Speaking of high content beers, has anyone ever tried Sam Adams Utopia or Sierra Nevada Bigfoot?

I just had the Kona Longboard for the 1st time a few weeks ago. Had one during dinner and had a tuna steak sandwhich. The beer mixed well w/ the food. Ironically enough, bouth tuna steak last night, skewered them, and grilled them then had some Kona longboard w/ the meal it was once again a great compliment to the food.

So far Kona and Dos XX are my favorites for consuming w/ food.

Got into some more local micros this weekend... a pretty damn tasty IPA and Stout up in Nederland, CO at a place that also does some damn fine BBQ (think it's just called the Smokehouse Brewery)... both were very good.

The Black IPA at Strange Brewing Company is pretty unique and tasty, I'm a big fan of that one. Also I got 4 free beers at the park from some guy with 3 coolers worth that somehow didn't get consumed and he couldn't carry all of it ha... Blue Moon, so not a bad score ha. Wish I could've carried more.

I'm a big fan of Odell's IPA, Lagunitas and GreenFlash are both pretty nice, so is Great Divide's Titan IPA. However, I really love a double IPA and Russian River's Pliny the Elder is my favorite beer in the universe... just absolutely perfect for me. On that tip, Avery's DuganA is real nice as well...
Any good "intros" to that style? Like I said, I'm a guy who loves Hefs, Blondes, Dunkels, etc.
