My second batch will be ready in 5 weeks, just in time for my hometown's big jubilee (you know how small towns always have some big celebration during the summer).

I'm making a golden lager that I think will go well with the hot weather of July.

I've done my share of drinking in college. Of course those "encounters" with beer were of the social lubrication kind and not for taste. It's been years since I've had a beer and I'm looking to get into the beer world. This time purely for taste and becuase I appreciate the history of the beverage. I also would like to brew my own at some point. I'm looking for suggestions on a beer to get me started. The last beer I had was Blue Moon's Honeymoon Summer Ale which if I remember correctly wasn't too bad.

Oskar Brews is probably my favorite brewery at the moments. The Belgian IPA from New Belgium is quite good. In North Carolina, the Duck Rabbit Milk Stout is a must try.

Yeah same here. That was a good article, I can't stand beer snobs.

I discovered Yuengling's a few months ago when I was on leave in Ohio (there were "Now serving Yuengling" signs in every bar it seemed like. I thought it was a very good beer.) but I could not find it anywhere in Chicago or west of Ohio. But to my surprise it is here in sunny Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I feel like the success baby meme.

I've passed billboards advertising this brewery but decided to finally drop in to have a taste. Was pleasantly surprised at how great their beer was. They have a year round IPA but currently had a double and a triple on tap as well. After tastes of all three I settled on the double. #PleasuresOfLife

I'm a populist, I guess. Was lucky enough to be in Montreal a couple weeks ago while the "Mondiale de la Biere", one of North America's largest beer fests, was going on. Over 600 varieties! Fun times.
