Re: My dog just died.
Your dog (who is likely in heaven) would approve and would want you to have a new friend.
But please don't buy a new dog - rescue one.Comment

Sorry for your loss AB. It has to be tough. My dog is gettingn very old and has cancer so I don't think he has to many years left in him.
My dog is more family to me than a lot of my blood relatives....Pets are amazing creatures. No matter what is going on in your life. Your pet will never judge you they are lifelong friends. Just try to remember the good times AB and when you can I vote for rescuing a dog too.-JoshComment

I'm sorry for your loss AB. I have been avoiding this thread after losing my beloved pet 4 months ago, I still can't even look at his pictures without crying...In fact typing this is making me kinda teary eyed..
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.RIP.Comment

Re: My dog just died.
Well I feel your pain now and completely sympathize with you, Alex. My dog died Saturday morning. I was down here in Kent, and she was at my parents house. She came down with anemia a few weeks ago, so it was coming for a while, but it was depressing how she died. After she got her medication, she went over to my mom and laid her head down in her lap to get some pets. Then she went over to our older Golden Retriever and nuzzled his head with her nose. Then she sat by the door to go outside, went outside, laid down, and died. It didn't really hit me until today and I've just been miserable all night

Re: My dog just died.
I hope you're feeling at least a little better, Alex and BJF. My wife and I have a cat & dog now that are five & four now. By the time they reach that point... well, I don't even want to think about it. I still remember the day my first dog passed -- I was watching Duke/Purdue (I think) in the NCAA tournament in '95 or '96 when my Mom came to me to ask if I wanted to go to the vet, as Hoover had a seizure. He'd been sick for a while and (without my parents knowing) I'd been cleaning up the SOB's messes every day after school so they wouldn't want to put him down. I knew what was coming, so I said my goodbye and stayed home.
Anyways, you guys didn't need to hear my sad story. But I guess the point is that you're not alone and shouldn't feel bad about being upset after the fact. I just got a little choked up thinking about something that happened over ten years ago. Hang in there...Comment
