I've met people off tinder, Okcupid, Hinge, and Coffee Meets Bagel. OKCupid is the one I'd use if I had to pick one, but those other 3 are also free and take like 2 seconds to set up, so might as well use them too. The main negative to tinder is it's so popular a lot of people just are on it for entertainment or curiosity and aren't actually serious about meeting people, so they can waste your time a lot.

Probably 5'10" and 15-20 lbs overweight. Never works out.
He's not ugly, but you wouldn't say he's attractive either.
Just ordinary.
He's been as shocked as anyone about all the action he's gotten, but he's not looking a gift horse in the mouth.
He's gotten a call-back from a few of the women, but for the most part it's a H&D, haha.Comment

Met my wife on Matchmaker 12 years ago. Been married 9 years now. I don't even know if Matchmaker exists anymore.
We both consider ourselves very "lucky" to have met each other on there after some of the horror stories you hear about online dating.PS5Comment

POF is very successful for jump-offs and that kind of thing, I tried match.com but since I am not subscribed I cannot do much, can't come to grips with paying for something I can do in public and POF has been good to me for free.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Tinder has been good to me, so I really don't use anything else, although I've heard of/briefly used Hinge and heard of CMB. I just looked through my Tinder matches, and it's like someone threw about 100 darts at a globe and they landed all over the place, lol. #Diversity
There's a new one out I heard about today called Bumble, where the girl has to initiate contact and has 24 hours to do so? Something along those lines. Also, heard about The Grade, which is set up like Tinder/Hinge, but tries to weed out crappy messages, creepers, etc., by assigning everyone a "grade", and if your grade goes below a certain level, you can't use the app.

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I feel like bumble has some shadiness going on because the girls on there are soooooooooooo much hotter than any other app. It's like every few girls you'll see a legit model. And I live in the suburbs of a tiny city. Either they show you fake profiles, or they show you profiles from somewhere else way outside of your radius, because so many of them say they went to all these colleges that you wouldn't expect people around here to go to.
Never heard of the grade.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Girls are so flakey on these sites. I met a pretty cool girl on POF. We had been talking everyday for the past 2 weeks. She lives an hour away so we were still trying to set up a time and place to meet.
Now all of a sudden nothing. I texted her Monday night and we talked for a few minutes, but that's the last I heard from her. Texted her this morning and still nothing.
She deleted her profile once we started talking. So I don't what's up. On to the next one I guess.Ravens - Orioles - Terps

It's usually single mom's looking for their sugar daddy (nope, single mom is not an occupation that pays the bill honey), or there was the 40 year old who was chasing me. Thought about it (I'm 29) until I got turned off by the "my son is graduating from high school, we should meet up before the ceremony."
Going the old fashioned route may be working out for me. A former co-worker (now a manager at another location) has been talking to me lately since she divorced her husband. Naturally, my ex decided to pop into my life again....but I'm proud to say I told her to get lost.Last edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-20-2015, 04:04 AM.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I actually met my girlfriend on POF, but I'd rather shave with a steak knife than browse that website. There's definitely some quality on POF but it is such a headache to dig through. They basically give you a jumble of female faces with little in the way of logic or efficiency... and you have to just wing it.
I had gotten annoyed with the site, stopped using it, and hadn't logged in for a week. Then she messaged me (they DO exist!), and we hit it off.
Kinda funny when you consider I was just about to delete my profile on there.Comment

Just married my catch of Match. I will post a picture in the near future. She's motivated, going into a great career, good all around person, and pretty damn good looking.

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Alright gents, need some advice.
So I think I've put myself into a bit of a tough spot. I was a groomsmen for my friend at his wedding little over a week ago and naturally I spent a good chunk of time talking to the bridesmaids. This one bridesmaid I talked to wanted to exchange numbers to keep in touch which I happily did as she lives in Manitoba. She flew back the next day and ever since then we've been constantly texting each other with casual conversation. But here's the issue I find myself in. I only liked her as a "friend" but the vibe I'm getting from the texts is that she's really into me but I'm not into her. I've tried to indirectly say that I'm not interested in being more than just friends but I don't think she understood what I mean't. Now she's supposed to go back to school in September but she then texts me today saying that she wants to move out here to British Columbia and go to school here. I was totally caught off guard and slightly panicked. I tried to tell her it's a bad idea and that I personally wouldn't do such a thing but she insists. I'm not attracted to her and this would be the last thing I'd want to happen/ deal with.
What would you guys do in a situation like this? I know obviously I should say that I don't like her in the way she thinks I do, but I'm not sure how to go about saying it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo
