In this case, I'd say no. Your mother has a history of getting money from your grandparents. It sounds like it's been more then once. Now I don't know if she pays them back or not, but if you have to borrow money multiple times, you don't have your priorities straight.

Some people don't get it until they have nothing. If you keep feeding her money, she'll never change. It's a "tough love" approach, I guess. But it's the only way. Don't fall for any BS she's going to feed you either.

I'm sorry but I don't have any sympathy for people who can't help themselves.

I just don't think giving her money is any way to fix her problems and it's only going to lead to more headaches for you. If you cut her off now, the only headaches you'll get is from her begging you. Just please, don't fall for it. Help yourself here a little as well.

Update - I called and spoke to her because honestly this whole thing is making me worry and she said she didn't have the money yet but didn't ask for it again, she didn't seem like she was worried about it so evidently either it's just not as dire as it seemed or else she's figured out another way to come up with the cash.
