Roll Call.......How many Military Vets do we have here?

Lets shoot the sh!t boys. I know we have quite a few of us here. Start off with what branch you serve or served in and what was your best and worst duty station.

I was a US Army Ranger. 24 years of service before getting wounded out in Iraq.
    MOS: 11B,54E,76Y,18B,89B.

Best duty station without a doubt was Camp Darby Italy. American Beach in Tirrenia...YES!!!

Worst without a doubt was Somalia. I spent 16 months in that hellhole. Wouldn't even wish that on a Bucknut fan.

    Fall in fu*kers and report.

Re: Roll Call.......How many Military Vets do we have here?

11B here as well, although I was never hooah enough to go to ranger school. I had just under 4 years in before I too got the med board. I was discharged to losing an inordinate amount of hearing( yes I wore hearing plugs). Since my Army Unit just got back from Iraq when I arrived I got spared going to Iraq when the Insurgency really got bad. Then when my unit was slated to go to Iraq, The suits decided Hawaii would be a great place for a Stryker Unit and my brigade got picked. So Basically that was like 3 years ,then when I was getting ready to go to Iraq I had to get all my Medical crap updated. This is where the Audiologist recommended me for the MEB.

I was stationed in Hawaii for the majority of time with the exceptions of the random deployments( NTC Twice, South Korea, Philippines). Those 4 years were the best part of my life, I just wish it would have been longer. So here I am on unemployment unable to find a decent job, its high time I put that GI bill to use....

Damn brother, sorry to hear about your unemployment issue. Going to school is a great idea. I hope your getting a little bit from VA for your hearing loss. I have a few friends that are rated at 30percent disabled because of that issue. Hell, that's 435.00 a month. Let me know if your not rated and I'll help you get hooked up.

well since I have a favorable re-entry code and getting re-rated could change that I do not want to since I hope to try and get back in once the economy gets better and people stop enlisting...

Either way, I got a nice chunk of change for getting out and I am content with that.

            HM3 Davis Reporting Sir!!

I'm currently serving as a Hospital Corpsman (Fleet Marine Force) In the Navy. My 1st duty station was with 2nd Battalion 8th Marines in Camp Lejeune, NC. I deployed with them as a Corpsman in charge of over 100 Marines medically in support of OIF from OCT07-May08.

I'm currently on shore command serving at a Naval Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island. It's a cake command but I'm getting a ton of college done and its a nice break from running around with the grunts in the sandbox.

So I've only been on 2 duty stations so I guess my favorite was with the Marines. It was an awesome experience serving with them and battling insurgents with them as well as treating them medically.

My next command will most likely be back green-side (Marines) but I'm not sure yet, my PRD is next March. I have 2 years left on my contract and not sure if I'll stay in or not.

RA 11B, 3 years at Fort Drum, one year at Benning for basic, airborne, and had to med drop RIP. Spent 18 months(6mo. and 9 mo.) in Afghanistan. The second trip was great as my platoon got assigned humvees. NO MORE WALKING! Spent most of the time like we were working for 4 wheeler magazine. We can talk in more detail during a Packer game Jack!

My dad was in the West Virginia Air National Guard from the early 1980s until 1992. He was a C-130 pilot and worked his way up to a Captain (he was an officer) until he retired shortly after I was born. He served in Panama and in the first Persian Gulf War.

I never minded walking, except when they start that super quick walk which pretty much turned into a run for me, damn my short stubby legs.

When My unit became a Stryker unit, we were pretty much a light infantry unit in a stryker units body, we pretty much did everything A$s backwards starting out. It was infuriating at times...

When I filled my dream sheet for duty stations, I put Ft. Drum #1. Since I live in Syracuse I would have liked to have been close to home, Instead I got Hawaii. I did not complain
