      Re: Men and Umbrellas

Well there's actually a lot more involved.

      (1) I typically stay in doors when it rains.
      (2) If I am out, I'm finding a parking space nearest to the store/entrance.
      (3) I'm married...

no really I care about my appearance, but I'm typically not outside when it rains and if I am, I'm prepared...but w/ a jacket and/or hat. That's all I need to get from the parking lot to my car (@work), and from my parking spot directly in front of my townhome to my frontdoor.

Seriously, if I lived in the city and used public transportation exclusively, I'd use an umbrella.
      This.

Except #2 of course since im not married....yet :-))

LOL! If there's no dinner to cook, then they need to be home cleaning the house!

I never use an umbrella. I don't even own an umbrella actually.

It doesn't rain that much here as it is, and when it does it doesn't change anything I just walk through the rain if I have to. The only thing I change is that I'll wear shoes that I don't mind if they get dirty or wet.

I use my umbrella all the time and use it as often as possible actually, I think they're cool. Why would I want to be wet? Especially during the work week it makes no sense.

I'd rather pop open my umbrella and walk the 300 feet from my car to the office at normal pace than sprint and get soaked for 10 seconds.

Never heard of umbrellas being feminine. I have like 4 or 5 huge umbrellas I brought from my African headphone supplier.

LOL. If that was my choice I would probably choose to stay dry too. My hair is short and sheds the water very quickly. I also dress with clothes that will handle the rain. But I look more like a duck, like I am built for the weather.

I use an umbrella all the time. I live in Eugene. Walking to classes in sideways rain is no fun even with an umbrella.

Ya, a couple of times on campus at Penn State I thought my umbrella was going to flip inside out... once it did.

I use an umbrella... no problem with my "masculinity."

Hat and Coat just doesn't do the trick. If you wear a coat, you still have to deal with the wet coat, so I don't really see how that is a solution. And I can't wear a hat if I'm going somewhere even semi-formal because they destroy my hair once I take the hat off.

Not only that but who would want to sit around in wet clothes.

I can understand people not using one if their job has a garage where they don't have to go outside but I always keep one in my office just in case.

Real men carry umbrellas that shoot toxic smoke at their enemies.
