I'm happy that I'm doing more reps in Ab Ripper X now that it's my third time going through it - but I'm still way behind the rest.

Do you find yourself being able to lift your leg higher and straighter with two weeks to go? I feel so pathetic when my leg is barely half way up and these guys are straight-legged with the toe parallel to their head. It's amazing.

Now that you ask me the question, yes.

I didn't realize it before. Heels to heaven I can actually reach more than 90 degrees from the floor now.

I did chest, back and ab ripper x for the first time last night.

Almost. Died.

It's pretty intense and those people on the dvd are insanely fit! I wasn't able to complete many pullups so i used the lat pulldown attachment on my home gym for those bits but have ordered the bands and will use those next time. Considering the disc is chest and back i found it was my triceps that gave out first and that is where i'm really hurting today. I even found it hard to lift my coffee cup to my mouth this morning because my tri's were hurting so bad.

When you are getting a fair way into it and they are like "ok now it's time for diamond pushups" i'm like "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!" but i did my best. I was happy to see my sternum injury didn't flare up much at all and i was able to get through every excersize even if i was doing the lame versions and only half of what those guys were doing at times.

I kinda found Ab ripper x more a hip flexor workout than ab workout but i guess the idea is to strengthen the entire core rather than just the abs which makes sense. I think one of the best things the program will do for me is increase my flexibility which is terrible and i never spend enough time warming up, stretching and cooling down when i'm doing my normal workouts.

I'm going to try out plymetrics tonight and I'll def be going through the whole program starting from scratch on the 4th of Jan. Can't believe i'll say this but i'm actually looking forward to yoga later in the week.

Yea, the best part of chest and back for the first time is going through everything once and then hearing Horton say: "Ok, now we're gonna do all of that again."

hey guys is the plyo workout basically all lower body? I seriously don't think i could take any upper body stuff right now. I had a hard time lifting my left arm far enough to get my shirt on and off last night.

LOL..... I remember the phase 1 cant get my short off situation.

Plyo is straight cardio. think jumping jacks,etc. They call it the art of "jumping" so you do alot of running in oplace and jumping up and down, etc. It wont disturb your upper or lower body.

I wont say it wont hurt because at this point, eating is prob hurts with the sore muscles lol.

Lol yeah it feels like have been attacked from neck to stomach by a gang of punks weilding doorknobs in socks.

Anyone who says this program is one of those usual soft informercial things doesn't know ****. Some of my buddies who i used to lift with were giving me crap about it but i worked harder in that workout than i have ever worked at the gym and that includes personal trainer sessions.

If you do plyo with maximum effort, the following morning you'll know what kind of shape your quads and hip flexors are in.

I feel like a lot of people who do P90X say the plyo is a waste or whatever, if you feel that way then there's no way you're working as hard as you should. You should be dying by the end of plyo even if you are in good shape.

My wife was doing the P90X Plus Interval the other day and I didn't feel like hitting the gym since it was like 20 degrees out so I just jumped in and did the Interval.

MAN!!!!!!!!

I was using muscles I haven't used in years and the next day I could hardly sit down without pain/soreness. Mind you I play ball 2-3 times a week and football once a week so I'm in decent shape. I finished the whole workout no problem but the soreness is unreal.

Im on my second run through of the program and Im here to tell you that the soreness only gets a bit better. I started phase 2 again this week and after I did chest and triceps, I was hurting im like wtf I have been doing this now for over 4 months, when does it end.

Ok so i officially started P90X yesterday and my wife is doing it with me as well which is kinda cool. We both did the Chest/Back + Ab ripper X yesterday afternoon while my daughter was sleeping and we both got up at 4.50am this morning to do plyo.

I'm pretty sore already and i'm sure my legs etc will be even worse tomorrow morning. We are following the nutrition guide as well so we are basically low carb for the first month, 40%/40%/20% (protein, carbs, fat) in the 2nd then a more high carb diet in the last month.

Other than the intial soreness i feel great though and am really looking forward to the next 3 months, even if it will be difficult at times.

My friend's brother in law is a host at QVC and they had Tony on and they were showing what this is. I liked it, but I am not willing to give up my junk food and the bottom line is if you want to get into shape you have to eat right. But this is a good program he likes it a lot too and my friend was there that night and he told me it is very intense.

Yeah it's nothing too complicated really. Just lots of bodyweight excersize, dumbell work, cardio and stretching/yoga. It's just packaged in an easy to follow way and is pretty motivational.

Scott if you aren't looking to drop weight doing this program while still enjoying the odd junk food would still do wonders imo.

Pretty cool doing the plyo workout for the first time this morning and one of the guys doing it is an amputee missing the bottom half of his right leg and he still gets through the program. Now that is badass.
