Week one is in the bag. I really enjoyed Kenpo X this morning and even though my legs are really sore (my hamstrings are killing me) i feel great and have really enjoyed the week. My diet has been flawless and i haven't touched a drop of alcohol so that side of things is going well.
I've pretty much been going mostly low carb so far and will for the first 4 weeks. After that i will follow the nutrition program and go 40/40/20 and may stick with that to the end or possible go up in carbs in the last phase like it says to do if i'm struggling with energy.
My wife has been a real champion and stuck it out without missing anything this week. It makes it much easier with both of us doing it.
What do you guys do for the recovery drink? I'm not spending a bunch of money on overpriced beachbody ones so i usually just blend up the following:
1/2 a frozen bannana (having it frozen makes the drink thicker for some reason)
1 to 1.5 cups of low fat milk
1 scoop optimum nutrition choc protein powder
4 or 5 ice cubes
It tastes fantastic and fills me up for quite a while as well. Does that look ok for a post workout drink? It's lower on carbs than the beach body one but i'm really shooting for fat loss so i thought that couldn't hurt.
My wife's family is in town tomorrow (sat here in Oz) and we are going out for dinner saturday night for her 30th b'day (well it's actually a surprise party with over 50 people coming but my wife thinks it's only dinner with her parents). Because of this we have decided to get up at the usual time (4.50am) saturday morning so we can do the first workout of next week and move our rest day to sunday instead. We'll just start up with plyo on monday.
