I should probably rearrange my schedule and do this in the mornings too. The one definite is I wake up at 6 am every morning. There's no guarantee what time I'll get home on a weeknight.

Yea, I think I need to make adjustments to my schedule to get this done.

I prefer working out in the morning. I find it gives me more energy throughout the day and I don't have to worry about finding the motivation to work out if I had a ****ty day at work.

I'm basically changing my sleep schedule from waking up at 7 and going to bed at 11 to waking up at 6 and going to bed at 10, which really isn't a big adjustment.

        Re: P90X

Yeah i'm turning into a morning person because of these workouts. I always hate getting out of bed so early (4.50am mist days) but that is the only way i can guarantee getting the workouts done everyday and it does make me feel good for the rest of the day.

I'm on the road at the moment for work so i've had to do the last two workouts in a motel room with the bands but i'm still getting through them. I love the chest, shoulders, tri's workout from phase 2 as there is no repeat exercises which makes the workout fly by. I'm def getting stronger as regular pushups are so much easier now and this is only after a month in. I'm still a fair way off doing the one handed pushups or clap pushups they do but i'm determined to do them eventually.

One of the handles on one of my bands broke off (was pretty dangerous as i was mid tri extension and the band nearly smashed me in the balls so that was a close call ) so i just had to grip the rubber tubing to finish the workout but is still felt sore today so it must have worked. Ab ripper is still a bitch but i'm seeing progress.

        Keep bringing it guys!

          Re: P90X

I re-started this today. I started P90X last July and was doing great for about 5 weeks until I had some severe right wrist pain. It swelled and hurt just doing simple things like turning a door-knob or opening a bottle of water. Doing 1 push-up killed me. Went and seen a doctor, took xrays which were negative and he told me it was just from overuse. He gave me a wrist brace and told me to use it as little as possible for at least 2 months. Ugh. So I got lazy and was just dissapointed because I was doing so great in the Summer and the 1st time in my life was actually working out everyday and after the wrist pain just lost all motivation.

Well anyways I have gained a lot of weight lately due to stress, bad diet and not working out. I put an end to that.

I started P90x lean today. I choose lean because it is more cardio which is what I want to focus on now and less weight training. If I complete this with no wrists issues then I will do P90x classic immediately after.

Anyways so Day 1 today and it kicked my ***. I did core synergistics and it was tough. I did finish it but had to stop my reps early. Tomorrow is Cardio X. I'm very excited to start this program again. It helps me feel better about myself, relieve stress, and of course get more fit and lose weight.

The diet will be the toughest part. I just love to eat. I have cut out drinking pop for the most part since January 1st. I still drink a can or 2 on the weekends but I don't go through 3 cans a day like in the past. I also am eating healthier overall. Smaller portions, less fast food, more fruit and more water and juices.

Reading this thread gave me motivation to finally start again. After seeing all of you do it, I was tired of making excuses. I want to feel like I did last summer and feel good when I look in the mirror.

Definitely. I was planning on starting some form of workout routine but having a couple friends suggest the program and reading about the experiences of you guys on here motivated me to do this one.

Yep I'm not going to give up. And if I can't finish a workout or do enough reps or miss a day or 2 I won't let it get me down. I will be happy that I am working out more then most of the country.

This is so true. I know this may sound corny but i just feel like a better man when i'm working out everyday. I can't really explain it and it's probably just the extra endorphins kicking in but i literally feel like a more complete person when i push myself with workout's like these everyday. Good job getting restarted my friend, i'm sure you'll kick its *** this time!

You can do it mate. Just don't GO too crazy to quickly (you were doing doubles which is insane in a first attempt imo) and you'll be less likely to burn out and quit.

You know you can do this.....

                      Re: P90X

                      I just completed day 2: Cardio X.

I came very very close to not waking up this morning. I almost fell back asleep when my alarm went off at 4:50 a.m. but I told myself if I fall back asleep I will regret it and have a ****ty day. So I woke up.

Cadio X was a good workout definitely. I loved the variety in the workouts. I started off great and with about 13 minutes to go I got burned out. If I couldn't finish the reps then I would jog in place to keep moving and keep my heart rate up.

I'm going to GNC tonight any advice on what I should pick up? Remember I'm doing the lean version so it is a lot of cardio and some weight training. I already have whey protein and recovery drink stuff I bought a long time ago.

Yea, just finished doing Day 1 again this morning.

It's a different type of energy to start the day. A bit of an adjustment for me. I'm used to getting up and kind of just going through the motions before the sun comes out. So the workout killed me despite having done this so many times before.

My advice is to not go to GNC. Vitamin Shoppe is much cheaper or go to a local place if you have one. The markups at GNC are absurd. I went to both last night to pickup some whey protein and it was $15 more at GNC for a 3lb jug and they are literally across the street from each other.

It's ok to treat yourself every once in a while. Depending on how hard you work in the gym it's not going to make that all of a difference.
