Day 1 complete. Man the ab ripper is hard. I could only do 1 of the exercise where you were on your side. I think they were called tiger claws, but on those my leg just started cramping. Gonna take a couple weeks before I can do them all right.

I use a scoop of whey and either a piece of fruit or a piece of WW bread, been using it for years and it works fine. Don't sweat the ratio too much.

How does the Phase 1 and phase 2 work? Do I do Phase 1 one week and phase 2 the next? Or do I stick to one phase for 90 days?

You do Phase 1 for 3 weeks and then rest a week. You start Phase 2 next and do the same thing.

I'm not necessarily looking for help with P90X (although that's always an option) but I wanted to get some opinions on the best way to tone up the ABs. I lost some weight in the past and no matter what I do or how hard I work on my midsection, it doesn't seem to get any better and there's still a little bit of flab. Also, I wanted to get some definition in that area, since I have none at this point.

I'm happy with almost every other part of my body right now, except this. Any help?

                      LOL...I wasn't saying that you weren't a healthy weight.

I'm just saying if you've been busting your *** with core exercises, and feel that you have really strong abs, then you need to lose more body fat if you can't see your abs. I had that problem too, had to cut body fat even though I was not necessarily overweight.

You could have the strongest abs in the world, but you won't be able to tell if they are covered by a layer of fat.

Haha well yeah that's basically how I feel. No matter how strong my abs get, I get no definition in return.

I just don't know if I'd want to get into P90X just to work on my abs and core....

You honestly do not need P90x.

Do you have any idea what your body fat % is?

Like TMagic said it's probably just stubborn body fat and genetics.

Some people are lucky and can have visible abs at relatively high BF while others will never get a true six pack even at low BF. Just the luck of the genetic lottery.

Yeah I have turrible genetics... and I don't know my body fat %. That's been high on my list of things to find out about my body for a while now lol.

I'm guessing a trip to the doctor could tell me that?

I have something that came with p90 that does a rough estimate of it.

Give me the distance around your abdomen in inches(at the navel) - Your neck size, like for a tuxedo - Height.

It's a rough estimate, but it's what they give you if you don't have equipment to do it.
