    Re: P90X

Great post Trev. Def don't buy the overpriced beachbody supplements, you can get better ones for less at supplement stores or online at places like bodybuilding.com. To be honest all i stick to is the ratio's for protein, carbs, fat and roughly the overall calorie numbers but that's it (which are too high imo so i go a fair bit lower than they suggest, no way i'm losing much fat on 3200 cals per day like it suggests).

The meal plans are a bit to extravagant for my tastes and i prefer to keep it simple. I eat virtually the same thing nearly every day except for dinner which varies a bit but is usually veges or salad with some sort of lean meat. It may be boring but it takes the guess work out of it and i don't seem to mind eating the same thing everyday and it's much cheaper when buying in bulk.

Just buy in bulk and load up your freezer with chicken breast, fish, lean meats, frozen veges's etc, buy some eggs and protein powder and you good to go. Real food beats a protein bar anyday of the week imo so the only supplements you really need are protein powder for post workout recovery and a multi vitamin.

      Re: P90X

Still rolling along nicely here, have week 2 weigh in tomorrow. I've already noticed a difference in how well my clothes are fitting and even my wedding ring fits on my finger more comfortably. My wife is looking good and is tightening up in the legs, butt region which she (and i ) are happy with.

This thread is pretty quiet, anyone else still going?

          Thanks for the support Scott.

As i also wrote in the workout thread i had my 2 week weigh in yesterday. Down another 1.6kg (3.5lbs) for the week.

lost 4kg (8.8lbs) in the first 2 weeks of p90x and feel better than i have in years.

Will hit chest and back hard this arfternoon.

I actually missed yoga on the wednesday just gone but i doubled up on another day so i made sure i haven't missed a workout.

That is great, eating right and working out will do wonders for you. The sad thing is it take about a month or 2 to get into good shape, but it only take about 1 to 2 weeks to get back out of the shape. It is what it is. So just keep going!!

You dont need an insane diet dude...When you are reading this...What are you doing? Sitting. Get up.

The hardest part about working out is going to the gym. But what keeps me going is this product I take called Buzzerk...Try some energy supplements that have a source of creatine. If you want to lose weight..***n more. Did the Greeks have to take special pills? They probably didnt even have Jenny Craig...Imagine that...

Ain't that the truth! I'm only now just losing the weight i put on in just 1 week over Christmas. It's so easy for me to put on and so hard to take it off but i guess if it was easy everyone would be in great shape.

The wife and I just finished chest, back and Ab ripper X. We both absolutely smashed our pb's in every exercise. My wife's total push ups (on the knee's version) for this workout have gone from 74 the first week to 112 the 2nd and now 169 today. Coming off the cracked sternum injury i was very weak i have gone from 5 normal pushups with 106 on knee's to 56 normal pushups and 120 on my knee's in 3 weeks.

I freakin love this program and i figure if it's good enough for Ray Lewis its good enough for me:
Lewis, who played a vital role in helping the Ravens reach the AFC Championship Game, said he has never felt better physically in 13 NFL seasons. He largely credits that to changing his approach to physical conditioning during every offseason. Lewis’ theory: If you do the same thing, you’ll get the same results.

Lewis’ newest routine includes a program called P90X, which operates on the principle of “muscle confusion.” The concept is to constantly introduce the body to new movements and exercises so it won’t plateau.

I disagree the most important part is eating right and then working out.

Shouldnt that be obvious? I said the "hardest thing is going to the gym" especially when you are sore your first few days. There is a 3-4 day hump that people need to get over...Then you can go balls out for it. Working out will become everyday part of your life. I started working out a few months ago...I basically live and breathe it now. I am literally addicted to working out. All I eat is vegetables, chicken breast, replacement crab, Raw eggs, and once in a while fruit. I got one cheap meal a week which I always use to drink hard alcohol just to enjoy fruits of my labor. Most of that food sounds disgusting, but you do get over it.

The only pills that I use is CoQ10 (Which helps your heart) Fish oil (Which helps blood flow). Then I take Superpump 250 or Buzzerk, No explode, which all can be purchased at your local vitamin center. If you want a good cheap supplement I heard Jack3d is good...I believe it's 25 dollars if you order it online. If you are wondering these are perfectly safe, but if you wanna stay healthy stay away from the HGH (Steroids) which comes in 3 different forms. NONE of which I listed is a steroid, but they work like they are.

I want everyone to enjoy the feeling of being healthy, because it makes you feel happy. Ive lost 8% body fat in 2 months...I look toner and I look like I can rip off somebodys head...But my goal is to have a 6 pack...and feel even more healthier.

The hardest thing is eating right. Yes, it is hard to go the gym, but it all comes donw to eating right. We just disagree and that is OK. It is all good.

I know for me diet is way harder than working out. I actually enjoy working hard in the gym but eating salad and with a calorie restricted diet etc um yeah not so much.

For me they kinda both work together because i know if i workout regularly i'm much more likely to stick to a healthy diet as i don't want all my hard work in the gym to go to waste.

This is what people don't realize. Yes working out is big, but eating right is the hardest thing to do and is not really easy to eat right. Especially when you have to give up sweets and treats. I am pretty lucky I have a good genetics. So I am in pretty good shape, but if I was too eat better and work out I would be in very good shape. Eating is very important too, but I would be lying if I didn't say genetics doesn't play a big role too.

Yeah genetic's make a big difference but by the same token i hate it when people use it as an excuse.

One of my wife's best friends comes from a large italian family of very overweight people. Her grandparents are fat, her parents are fat and her brother and sister are both fat. She had always used the cop out that it was in her genes to be fat untill 2008 when something changed. She started eating healthily and walking 4-5 times per week. Within a year she had lost 42kg (92lbs) and totally changed her appearance, habits and even life expentancy.

Her change was 90% diet as even to this day all she does is walk a few times a week but her diet has completely changed and so has her life.

True, but I am talking more of the fact of getting better Abs. Not the whole body in general. But I agree with what you just said. Also when I say genetics I am talking more about it will be harder to get in shape. You really have to eat right and exercise.
