    Re: P90X

So I just picked up P90 regular a few days again to help get in shape for my wedding in 3 months and golf season. I'm 6'2, 190 and not in terrible shape, but far from being in good shape.

So I did phase 1 yesterday and thought it wasn't too bad. In fact, I was all cocky to my girl thinking this was going to be cake. Well then I did the sculpting today...YIKES! Holy crap that hurts, but in a good way. I'm hurting in places I didn't know existed.

Anywho...I don't see myself having a problem getting the motovation to do the first part, but man I'm already dreading do sculpting again in 2 days!

      Re: P90X

My wife got the P90X, and I was about to try it out until I looked at all the stretches and stuff. I knew there was no way I'd be able to get throuh 40-plus minutes of that, so I went ahead and picked up Power 90. That suits your boy better. I do it in the morning before I leave for work, then I go swimming/play basketball/lift after work. Your man is through after that. I might do the P90x after a couple rounds of the Power 90.

        Re: P90X

There is only one day of "required" stretching and that is yoga day which I know a lot of people just skip. You would be in good enough shape to start p90x after a couple weeks, not round of power 90.

I'm good with the Power 90. I modify it some by using heavier resistance bands (Bodylastics plug) to make it more intense.

I am interested in getting P90X. What all will I need to buy for it? Also where is the best place to find the lowest price for P90X?

Probably amazon because it's the same price as everywhere else and you don't have to pay tax.

              You will need

That's all I can think of, other then obvious stuff like a towel and basic workout clothes.

I used weights ranging 5-30 lbs. I'm not the strongest person. I could have gotten by with a 10, 20, 25 my first time through. There is one move where you could do a 50, but unless you are just rich then it's ok to just use your heaviest weight until you fail.

If I were you, I'd just buy it from the manufacturer. Getting it at Amazon might be cheaper, but you're also getting less stuff. If you buy it directly from the company, you will have the money-back guarantee and the nutrition plan. P90x isn't for everyone and it's nice to have the security blanket of knowing that you're not stuck with it if you decide the program is not for you.

I spent around $200 for the program and the chin-up bar. Not too bad, really.

If you don't care about the money-back guarantee or the nutrition plan, getting it at Amazon is probably your best bet.

I don't use the pull up bar, but I use resistance bands instead..

I don't have a good place to put the bar, really.. so the bands are a nice substitute.

Yeah, I was about to post that. My wife got it off Amazon, and it came with everything. They're an approved Beachbody reseller, so it's gonna have everything.

                        I stand corrected.

                        Nice.

                          Re: P90X

I've been doing P90X for a month now and I'm loving it so far. It does a great job at keeping me motivated to work-out, even if it's just at home. I've always been in pretty good shape and I've developed my abs (though no 6 pack) before doing P90X. Now, I've been doing Ab Ripper X 3-times a week since I started and while I think it's a good workout, I just don't feel enough burn in my abdominals compared to my thighs.

Is this normal? Should I stick with it? Or should I look into a different ab workout?

Got a question about the diet plan guys. I'm currently doing 16/8 intermittent fasting. If I started P90X, do you think i'd be alright if I just continued the 16/8 plan instead of the P90X diet plan? I don't have enough of a budget to buy all kinds of different meals, so i'd never be able to stick to the diet that is provided. Atleast with intermittent fasting, I can watch my calorie intake with ease. But is that enough?
