The spider freaked out and ran into my bookcase, where I was finally able to trap (and perhaps crush it, although I have never checked since) with my textbooks there.

So you're saying there might still be a squished and dead spider laying under your textbooks on the bookcase?

I saw a story on an episode of Medical Incredible on the Discovery Health Channel once about a guy who was bitten on the leg by a brown recluse. He had a very bad necrotic reaction to the venom and had to have a large amount of tissue removed from the area. I think reactions that severe are rare though.

My junior year in college I lived in a quad with 3 of my friends and we had a spider infestation in our building. My one roommate liked to shoot them off the walls with gumbands or trap them in my empty Dr Pepper bottles and leave them on my desk (he is crazy). One night we were both sitting at our desks which faced each other with about a 1 foot gap between them and he picked up one of his books and there's a dime sized spider sitting under it. He tried to smash it but it jumped down between our desks and bounced right off of my bare toe causing me to jump back. He then crawled under his desk and killed it.

Yes.

Not just any spider too, I didn't want to check because it was a fairly big spider. I'm hoping the ants had a chance to clean it up before the Terminix guy came a few weeks after that and eliminated them.

Living in a riverfront apartment the last 2 years I've had more than my fair share of spider encounters. Generally, they're scared ****less of humans. So they're easy to kill.

Just an update to my spider stories. I go in my car to get my cell phone out of the cup holder and I thought I saw something moving by my cell phone (it was dark out) and sure enough there's a freaking spider in my cup holder!! Then on another day I go to check my mail and of course there's a huge spider in my mail box waiting for me to put my hand in there. I swear I must get lucky, because I have done everything you could to get bitten by a spider.

Which reminds me of a story when I was in Longview,Texas. I was stayin at my ex girlfriend's house and we pull out the couch and all nice and coiled up is a Brown Recluse just ready to bite me on my cheeks. Creepy man...

Those spiders are probably crawling in your nose or mouth at night and dropping there eggs in your flesh. If you get swelling in your mouth go to the doc, otherwise the eggs will burst and about 1000 baby spiders will spill into your mouth, throat, and nasal cavities.

A trarantula almost fell on my face wen i was laying down in mexico. And i once killed a big white spider and white centipe in my room idk how those were even in my house.

I don't know what the deal is, but we've had wayyyyy too many spiders crawling around my house this year.. and I don't like it..

No spider stories, but once when I was out riding when a flying roach landed on my shoulder. Never been more freaked out ever in my life.

A couple months ago found a spider in my shower 2 nights in a row. I also had a thousand legger in there once.

And a non-spider story. I was dive bombed by a kamikaze moth my 2nd year in college. I was sitting at my desk studying when I feel something smack against the back of my head and look up to see this moth fluttering towards the ground near my tree lamp where I later found it dead.
