We been through so much together. He died when he was 32 and he would be 44 today. I remember I went through a huge depression. I got better, but it is was tough. I think about him every day. I went to counseling and he told me to write a letter to my brother and what I thought of him and all the fun things we could do and have done. Then in the end of the later told him good bye, it was the most powerful letter I ever wrote. It was tough, the hardest part was telling him good bye. OH well it is life and death is a part of life. My students at the jail have seen their love ones get killed in front of them. Now that is powerful!

Damn sorry to hear that man, very touching! I lost my older brother he died in his sleep. He said he had a headache and died that night. I saw him about 2 days before that. He called me on the phone that night and told me he had a head ache. Two days later we go to his apartment and he was dead. It was very heavy. I feel like I should have check on him the next day, but I was very busy with college and just life. But it still haunts me to this day and it has been 12 years now.
The thing that always bothered me about that, she was the type of person would goto work everyday as a cashier at a grocery store and never complain. She had tradgedy after tradgedy happen to her in real life.
Then she just comes home and dies in her late 30's, without warning.
Its just not fair.
But I guess that is the fairness, when we are dead we are dead. Then it becomes a point of faith or lack of faith."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

That's rough man. A similar thing happened to my next door neighbor. Came home from work with a headache, went to bed and never woke up.

Re: The moment that changed your life forever
I agree, but what is great about this thread is it show you others go through some heavy **** too. Some times you feel like you are the only one that goes through some heavy **** in life.Comment

Re: The moment that changed your life forever
One of my best friends was in the hospital with a brain tumor the day before his 18th birthday. We met at a summer camp a few years prior and that camp was coming up the following week. I made a CD for him to remind of what camp was like. Track four was "Cats in the Cradle," a song he would sing for his dad every summer. We put the CD in to listen to it, me, him and his dad. Half way through "Cats in the Cradle" he passed away.
It almost felt like it was meant to be that way, and I will never forget the look on his dad's face, brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it.Last edited by DustinT; 12-17-2009, 03:21 AM.Former OS Editor.
