The Holidays are tought times for a lot of people. Lots of emotions running through peoples heads.

Sometimes it's best to just slow down and wait for the time to pass. People usually come around as long as the damage isn't too great.

Or just be above them and treat them nice. That is all you really can do with family. All these pissing matches are not right.

I spent my christmas standing alongside a freezing I-675 staring at a dead body after a 5 car accident and nearly got hit myself by a car not paying attention.

I rarely have a christmas where things are all peachy and great. It happens. Just cherish the time you have with the people around you and things will get better.

I'm sure your family will come back around soon ODogg.

Well all Christmas Long I was stressing about a Job Interview I had on Wednesday , Since I felt like I did not do very well I was not feeling very jolly. Needless to say I did not get the job and I have bills to pay with no source of Income, it was not a holly jolly Christmas indeed.

Thanks man...I am just wondering if i'm the only one out there who has gone thru a Christmas like this...

A deer hit me, less then a half a mile away from my house, two days before Christmas.

Having to work around my insurance company and body shop so close to Christmas/New Years and still manage to get to work daily.. + my plans for the New Year.. REALLY SUCKS.

I know having to drive my Mom's Suzuki XL7 and go through these events are no where near as difficult as what you've experienced, in a personal sense, but still... it's been a ****ty past week or so..

Bright side ? The 3700$ worth of damage done by hitting a Deer is substituted for a 500$ deductible ..

No I don't get a woman who can ruin her kid's Christmas by throwing a temper tantrum with her boyfriend and canceling Christmas by way of a screamed obscene, barely understandable shouting via phone message by way of her 13 year old daughter. Nor do I get a 41 year old woman who types vulgar an hate-filled email messages for no real, discernible reason.

But maybe someday, if senility creeps into my brain and turns it to mush then I will understand, and perhaps even seek to revel in, that level of immaturity. Maybe then I'll fit right in with those two and we can have wonderful, shouting, anger-filled Christmas' together and you will see us all on Cops!

Cebby, you're right, that's kind of the plan at this point. The only reason I have been is because of my nephew and niece to be honest. I hate to abandon having anything to do with them as their lives are so crappy already. But to interact with them is also to involve these other folks like my sister and her boyfriend. Now I guess I know why some ex-husbands have nothing or very little to do with their kids when their ex-wife is a spiteful you-know-what..

Scottdau - I don't think you fully understand, I did try to do things nicely. I always have. My sister has a hair trigger temper. I was simply trying to work out me coming over with my mother to help the kids set up their gifts and to see what all they got when I got cussed out. I even offered to come in, set up their stuff and then immediately leave. It wasn't about me, it was me trying to help the kids out. If my sister was competent with electronics I wouldn't have stressed out about it so much. But the fact is that I honestly did not want to spend a bunch of money on gifts that would not be setup and therefor not be used. So yeah, that aspect was about me. Call me crazy but I don't want to think I spent a bunch of money on gifts that don't get used. And if you knew my sister and my family in general you'd know that they don't mind being wasteful and procrastinating. So in that respect it was about me wanting to make sure they got to use their gifts and knew how to use them. On a related note my nephew still hasn't got his PS3 online and I guess I'm going to have to walk him through it on the phone.

Also, just so we're clear, it wasn't just me that my sister excluded on Christmas, it was everyone. Once she had her little drama and cussed me out no one was allowed to come over. If she had any sense of maturity about her she would have at least allowed me over to setup the kids gifts and then allowed the other adults to come over and give the kids their other gifts as well. But she couldn't even be that much of an adult to do that.

On a possibly related note my sister wrecked her car the next day and she has no insurance. I'm not happy about it, don't misunderstand, but maybe that is proof that karma exists. I've told her, as well as my parents, many times in the past that you can't mess around with not having auto insurance but she doesn't listen. And now her car is pretty messed up, she has no job to fix it, and she has an emergency room bill to boot too.

I hear you, but I would still keep doing that regardless of how they act. I was raised to be nice even if others are not. Always, it is something my Dad and Mom taught me. I think you need to what you think is best for you. We just are different and if you did all that stuff you said you did then you have to make that call. I would still be nice no matter what. I am hopeful Karma does give me what I deserve because I've been nothing but positive in all of this mess! I even sent my sister's boyfriend a "Merry Christmas" in response to his obscene and threatening text message he sent to me. I do always try to take the high road.
