Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
And I also believe in Aliens. The universe is huge and there has to be other life out there. And I doubt we will ever make contact with them.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 01-06-2010, 10:10 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
Life somewhere in space I believe in.
Ghosts, demons, and all that, nah. Just not enough evidence, or personal experience. Plus those fake paranormal shows that have popped up over the last few years are just terrible. It really doesn't help their cause.Comment

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
I believe in Ghosts, having many experiences in my parents house.
I believe in aliens/UFOs also. I would really like to see one along with a full fledged documentary of all of the extensive research The United States has put into Area 51 and what not. A legit documentary, not an hour long one on The History Channel.
And I actually do have a hunch the Loch Ness Monster was real but passed away and is now just lies in the rubble of the Loch.Comment

Much like all the cryto-nonsense, it was great in the pre-internet era when you only had a blurb in some UFO book, but now that you have all the facts, it's really not all that interesting.Comment

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
All government secrets are on wiki lol. Also Britain is doing a multiple stage thing of releasing all its information on UFO's and many other countries are following suit. With the expectation of the US following suit and finially releasing the fact that UFOs do exists and have for a long time. Been on CNN and other news stations often.
A poll was done I think last year that showed a staggering 50% to 90% of the population thinks the government is hiding the truth behind UFOs
Matter of fact the Governor of Phoenix is making a strong push for the government to stop hiding the truth. After the Phoenix lights he is now a firm believer.Last edited by Phobia; 01-08-2010, 06:39 PM.Comment

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
You can look up the citations and it's pretty common knowledge that most of the top secret aircraft, often with odd designs and undetectable to radar, over the last 50 years were tested in the Nevada desert.
Also Britain is doing a multiple stage thing of releasing all its information on UFO's and many other countries are following suit.
On the other hand, I think it's more reasonable to go for the logical explanation that Area 51 is the test site of top secret aircraft than a massive alien conspiracy of a country that can't keep anything secret past a few years.

As the Supreme Leader of the People of Maryland, I denounce the Governor of Phoenix and all he stands for!Comment

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
I believe in them both along with cryptids due to my own personal experiences with paranormal activity and a ufo sighting, as well as because if you believe in one thing how can you possibly say something else is stupid? It's like someone believing in Bigfoot but saying Chupacabra or Loch Ness is garbage. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?
As far as aliens they do exist. It would be very dumb to say that there is not. Think about it...The space is infinite so basic logic should tell you that there is atleast one different life form. I wouldnt be amazed if our government would hide any evidence they find...Because if there are aliens religion = FAKE which would cause people to freak out and our government would lose a huge amount of control which as a Christian nation it helps our government keep the people in check. Same goes with the rest of the world.
As far as ghosts...I do not believe in them. If you imagine seeing something...The brain is so complex if you believe if something is real...Then most likely you are going to see it or hear it. Ghosts also tie with religion which I am not really for.
Both are impossible to co-exist unless the ghosts are a strange source of energy in somebody's past life.Comment

I don't really hold much of an opinion on aliens. They may exist; they may not, but there's no evidence either way and it's all speculation. I can't prove that they do exist, but I also can't prove that they do not exist.
Drake's equation states:
where:
<dl><dd>N = the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible;</dd></dl> and
<dl><dd>R* = the average rate of star formation per year in our galaxy</dd><dd>fp = the fraction of those stars that have planets</dd><dd>ne = the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets</dd><dd>fℓ = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life at some point</dd><dd>fi = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life</dd><dd>fc = the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space</dd><dd>L = the length of time such civilizations release detectable signals into space.[2]</dd></dl>If any one of those variables are zero, then there are no alien civilizations that we can come in contact with.
