Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?

Another Ouija story, which I just remembered and kind of freaked me out.

I have 2 older brothers. You know the type.. the ones that makes the youngest brother do things he doesn't want to do? And if the younger brother doesn't want to do it, the older brothers will gang up and make fun of him?

Well I was that younger brother. One night when we're all home alone.. My brothers ask me, "hey do you want to play the Ouija board?" At the time, I was only about 9-10. I just came from the Philippines, so I knew nothing about this game. So of course, I said sure.

The thing is, we didn't have the actual board. So my oldest brother constructed one out of poster board and using a shot glass to make the circles with the letters in them.

Not sure if you guys have heard this way, but my brothers insisted that the only way to make this home-made thing work was to first light a match and stick it under the shot glass. Once the oxygen is out, the match will burn out thus leaving a cloud of smoke inside the glass. Afterwards, we are required to pray (this scared the crap out of me, but once again, older brothers force you to do things you don't want to do)

Well we proceed with both. Afterwards, we begin to ask questions..

Now I don't know if this is my brother just trying to scare me, but after a few questions, the shot glass started to move.. then my oldest brother screamed and said there's a face in the glass! Right then, the shot glass flew off the table and we all ran upstairs (we were at the basement at the time)

I was never so scared in my life. Actually typing this now, it has raised the hairs on my entire body.

Yep, basically proposes that the sun has a very distant brown dwarf companion in an elliptical orbit that periodically takes it close enough to the Oort cloud to disrupt the orbits of some comets and throw them towards the inner system. They then propose that these comets being thrown inward and impacting Earth at regular intervals can explain the supposed periodicity of mass extinction events.

Sounds like Nibiru, which some believe shows up on 12/21/12.

I will type it out when I get some time, im swamped at work right now. Lets just say, I fully believe in ghost, my mom, and my step dad who is a complete atheist now believes in the after life.
Ok got some time to type little bit out.

When I was a senior in high school my parents moved into this new house. It was a small single story brick home. On the backside of the living room was french doors that lead out to the back yard. Then the kitchen had a door that lead out to the carport. Lastly, the front of the living room had a big bay window.

Well each morning I would wake up for school I would notice my damn blinds would be open. So I fussed at my mom to stop opening my blinds, she said it was not her and maybe the cat was getting in the window. So I wrote it off as that.

Several months later my mom and step dad were working late. Me and my sister was sitting watching TV and it was pouring raining and lighting. Out of no where someone/something bangs hard 3 bangs on the front bay window....BOOM BOOM BOOM. It startled me and I instantly jumped up and ran to window to see who it was. In less than 10 feet or so for me to get to the window, I look out and no one is there, then BOOM BOOM BOOM on the back french doors. Which for someone to get in the backyard in that speed would of been impossible, we had a big 8 foot tall privacy fence.

My sister is now almost in tears, so I run to my room grab my shotgun and throw 3 shells in. As I'm coming back through the living room the kitchen door under the carport sounds like someone drove a truck into it, Just this extremely loud BOOOOOMMMM!!! I immediately point the shotgun to the door and head straight for it. I make it outside and no one is anywhere to be seen. I instantly thought someone was screwing around with me, so I walk across the street to a buddies house. Explain the situation so he grabs his glock and we head back to the house.

As we make it back we are still going over what happened. He then says "So this front door under the carport someone hit???? Why is there no wet foot prints if they came under here" So that was a good point I could not explain.

So long story short we go back our separate ways and it was never explained.

Fast forward 4 or 5 months I move out and get my own apartment. My mom and I got to have lunch and she says "Had something weird happen at the house couple times the last few months." So I ask what, she says "I'm laying in the recliner just dozing off and Ben(our big dog) jumps up going ballistic, so I look toward the kitchen and the front door is swinging open." She runs to the door and no one was anywhere she saw. Well this happened another time not longer after.

Fast forward another 6 months or so. My step dad wakes up around 3am thirsty so he heads for the kitchen. My mom said, next thing she knew he was shaking waking her up flipping out. All the doors and window in the Kitchen, Living room, and french doors were wideopen. Now this man is a complete non-believer in anything he can't see or touch. He told my mom that it had him completely shaken.

They sold the house not but about 3 or 4 months later and they moved into a new house. Nothing since that I know has happen to them after that. That was over 13 or 14 years ago. It still sticks in my head like it was yesterday because it honestly felt not normal. We went from a family who never believed in ghosts/spirits, to one that is not certain but for sure believes something was happening.

If this were the case we'd be noticing the effects of gravity from the incoming planet by now.

I was watching a show on Gamma Ray Bursts last night. Now those things are scary!

I figure I'll share my "UFO" experience.

Back when I was in 4th grade I was invited to a friend's birthday party. It was the typical sleepover deal. He lived out at the base of the mountains that lined the valley floor. We were all "sleeping" in the living room that had a huge window over looking the valley. Of course, being 4th graders....we were up talking about sports, guns, & other things rural 4th grade boys talk about.
Out of nowhere the whole room lights up. Bright red & green alternating lights. We look out the window and see an object that looked kind of like a top hovering about 25 feet above the trees. Then it zipped away. Craziest thing I've ever seen.

Nobody talked about it until Senior year of HS...when one of the guys brought it up. I thought it was a dream for those years between 4th grade & senior year.

I'm not saying it was alien, but it sure as heckfire wasn't anything I had seen before.

In 2010, I was driving home from work around 5:15 pm. It was bright day light in the summer. I saw this odd white object just sitting in the sky. I watched it the entire drive home from work. Even called my fiancee on the way home and asked if she was seeing it (which she was). We both could not figure out what it was.

My buddy said it was the suns reflection off the space station over earth. Maybe he was right, I'm not sure but it was odd.

Couldn't have been the ISS. It's not large enough to be seen in daylight even if it were reflecting sunlight. Plus, I think it only takes about 90 minutes to complete a single orbit of Earth so it wouldn't have been just sitting there and would've moved across the sky at a decent rate.

I do believe that other forms of life exist in the universe. Whether or not any of them have made contact with us, I don't know.

As for ghosts, I definitely believe after having my own experiences. I've seen things that I couldn't explain, and went to college in a place that is routinely called one of the most haunted places in America (Google Montevallo haunt). The two defining experiences for me were (spoilered for length):

Re: Any paranormal things you believe in?

Every time this topic comes up I immediately think of how we tend to make ET life superior to ours. Why is that? Now, I suppose if they can come to us and leave as they please, then yes, they are probably further along in their life progress. However, if they are visiting us, why is it that they are too dumb to surpass all of those (ie. government) that try and hide it? Why not show up and not move until the word adequately gets out.

The other paranormal interest is often ghosts. Why is it that ghosts do mysterious things? Many ghost stories are small things about a ghost that knocks on a wall 3 times, only between 12 and 3 am. If something was trying to communicate, why not show up when we are all sitting around the table and be upfront about it. Don't move a salt shaker. Do something with more depth.

Could it be that these sightings of ghosts and aliens are secretive simply because they really aren't happening and so to keep the "truth" out there would require us to always present it as an unsolved mystery?

Still, I believe in ET life. I believe in evil spirits and demons. I believe in angels. I think for us to sit back and consider this entire universe, then claim we are the only life, would be silly.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I've never had any experience with paranormal things, but I do believe in them.

Like others have said, as large as the universe is, it seems pretty naive to think we're the only living things around. If theories on parallel universes are true, then there's an even higher probability.

As for ghosts and such, I'm not sure what I believe. There are so many stories and anecdotes that it would seem the evidence of their existence is overwhelming. But the brain is the most complex thing in this world and we don't understand much of what it is capable of; so it may be a case of our brain trying to put together things that don't make sense into something we can understand.
