I also gotta say that chocolate milk has worked well as a recovery drink so far. I have 12oz after the workouts, and i'm not too sore the next day. I'm obviously still worn out, but that's just the nature of the workout.

My recovery drink is 2 cups 1% milk, 1 bananna, 1 tbsp peanut butter, 2 scoops whey protein, and some ice...then blend. About 650 calories and it hits the spot.

Doesn't sound too bad, I'll need to try that...

              Re: Insanity

I think I might have to take an unscheduled day off today. Still debating with myself.

Yesterday during the workout I felt some unusual pain in my feet/ankles, specifically my right ankle. I couldn't really do the floor sprints as part of the level one drills. I figure it's the recovery week, so now is probably a good time to recover by any means necessary, and I would hate to come down with a serious injury like a torn Achilles.

Cardio power and resistance complete. Man, those one legged tricep dips had my arms shaking like crazy. I had forgotten to, that at the end of the video when you think it's over, he throws 3 sets of 8 hop squats/8 pushups at you. I was toast after that .

just finished the 60 days. GAINED 2lbs. went from 203 to 205. however i now have a much more defined 6 pack so i am happy. wasn't in it to lose weight anyway, just try something new and stay fit. really increased all my totals in the fit test along the way too. now on to the "asylum"...

Damn dude you must have been hitting those cals to actually gain weight through this thing! Good to hear you got more definition out of it though.

Nice work Kearnzo. I actually missed my first workout yesterday (we are a day ahead of you here in Australia). It was a public holiday here and I had all my family over. I went down to shoot some baskets with two of my cousins and we ended up playing 3 on 3 games for over 3 hours so I was well and truly spent after that.

I'll be hitting up Power and resistance this afternoon after work. I prefer to do these monday-saturday so I might double up on the cardio recovery day to get back on schedule or just not take the day off at the end of the week or something.

For people who are doing Insanity, can you take a look at the website and see if its similar at all?

I have it and it's pretty tough. There are 6 workouts and 2 bonus workouts (~15-20mins long). You need an agility/speed ladder, pull-up bar, and some light free weights. It's more of a P90 & Insanity blend in that it has a little bit of cardio and weight lifting. I like it because it focuses more on footwork. I'm trying to get back into soccer and one thing I noticed is that my feet aren't quite "soccer quick". I play bball 2-3x a week but soccer is a different animal and this has helped me out a lot.

I've done all of the Beach Body workouts (P90X, p90X+, Insanity, Asylum, Rev Abs) and Asylum is probably the hardest. There aren't as many breaks but like Tony Horton and Shaun T say, "take your breaks when you need them".

These workouts make it hard to keep a gym membership and there is no better feeling than after you've done one and you're dripping with sweat Patrick Chewing'esque.

Power and resistance is done. I already have noticed being able to push myself more than in week one. This is my favourite workout of all the ones I've done so far i think.

I still had family visiting so I had to sneak off and do this workout in a bedroom watching the disc on a laptop. I gotta say it's definitely easier doing all the jumping etc on carpet than on the tiles, I might have to do them in there from now on. The only problem is if I get too far off the towel I drip sweat on the carpet but it definitely seems much easier on the joints that's for sure.

I know the feeling. The carpet is drenched by the end of the workout. Kinda nasty, but it's the safest place to do it for me.

T-minus 30 minutes until I hit up pure cardio....this one kicked my rear end last time, so i'm sure it will this time as well.

Pure cardio complete. Man, that has got to be the hardest workout ever put to DVD. It's just so physically demanding to try and keep up the whole time. I had to take a couple breaks here and there, and the level 2 drills and burpees flattened me at the end. But, I did better this time on the workout than last, so there is definitely improvement.

And holy crap, I see Saturday is a combo of pure cardio AND cardio abs. Jeez, I don't know how i'm supposed to complete another workout AFTER pure cardio. Are you supposed to do the whole pure cardio DVD, cooldown included, and THEN cardio abs? Or do I just skip from the end of the actual workout on pure cardio right to cardio abs?

I believe I'll be joining you guys on Thursday. I'm not looking to lose any weight, rather get back into shape and get toned. Just gotta find a way to stay motivated.

just started this about 2 weeks ago. Think my body has gotten used to my regular work out routine.

Friend of mine has insanity on a flashdrive and he let me borrow it. I NEVER use other folks computer related items, but I said what the hell and did it anyway. You guessed, first time ever and it destroyed my freakin laptop lol (some type of weird virus)

So I got to do the insanity for like two days before my laptop died (well, I actually punched the crap out of it lol). What I did experience was great though. I'm about to order the set of insanity dvds today actually.

Meantime, its back to my standard 4 to 5 mile runs with the jump rope thrown in for good measure. I love it.
