Re: Insanity
Bye Pure Cardio!
Hello MAX Cardio.
1 more workout tomorrow and I'm done with month 1!
Also, thanks to whoever suggested skipping the warmup of the Cardio Abs workout. I really got a good ab workout today after Pure Cardio, and that workout was awesome as well.Comment

Re: Insanity
I'll have to remember to do that as well on that day.
Woke up with very sore calf and abdominal muscles today, this program REALLY works your core by the looks of it.
One thing I like about programs like this and p90x is that it makes me do proper warm up and stretching each workout which is a great habit to get into. I gotta admit I often do way too little warm up and stretching when I do my more tradition workouts.
My flexibility is absolutely hopeless so all this stretching can only be a good thing. Have you guys noticed improved flexibility after doing the program a while?Comment

Re: Insanity
I'm a lot more flexible now. Week 8 is done...one more to go! I'm really happy with my changes and recommend Insanity to everyone. I was afraid it would make me "skinny" but my shoulders, tris, and chest just got more defined.
Wish I would have did this years ago. The days of trying to bulk up are over for me.- The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.Comment

Re: Insanity
Well, talk about bad luck. Came down with something NASTY early yesterday morning. Temp of about 103, awful aches, chills, etc. The whole nine yards. I'm so angry right now, as my progress was amazing through a week and a day. I still feel awful right now, but thankfully the fever has broken for the most part. I'm thinking to be on the safe side, I may wait until Monday to pick this back up, unless I really start to feel better. Perhaps Saturday I can do Pure Cardio or something and just go at about 75% so Monday doesn't kill me.
Either way, i'll be starting week 2 back over.Comment

Re: Insanity
Yeah better to wait those sort of things out, bit of a bummer but it's nothing in the big scheme of things.
I did cardio power and resistance last night and it was weird because I was flying through probably the first 80% of it with ease and thinking this workout isn't anywhere near as hard as the others then BOOM the last 20% absolutely killed me with the moving pushups and all those tri exercises.
I have cardio recovery up this afternoon which almost sounds relaxing but i'm sure it won't be.Comment

Love the results I'm seeing after the first month. Can't wait for the recovery week starting on Friday.Comment

Re: Insanity
As far as I can tell, I'm down about 8 pounds. My scale is terrible, though, so I can't really be sure. I've also never really lifted before starting this, so my legs were weak, which leads me to believe that I've gained some muscle in by calves/thighs.
Regardless of what my scale says, I'm beginning to see a transformation in my body and my endurance.Comment

Re: Insanity
Nice. 2 lbs a week is a great rate of sustainable fat loss.
Cardio recovery and pure cardio are in the bag. The recovery really helped and I'm feeling less sore overall today. Pure cardio was *** kickery at it finest and I had to stop a few times but i would have done at least 90% of it i think.
Really loving this program so far!Comment

Re: Insanity
Good lord, those shoulder burners are a nightmare! Other than that, I'm having a much easier time with these workouts, as one would expect. But my shoulders would beg to differ.Comment

Re: Insanity
Well the first week is in the books and I'm feeling damn good!
The first time I do a workout i think i mustn't truly give 100% because I don't know what's to come etc but today was my 2nd shot at plyo cardio and I went all out. It's such a brutal workout but you feel like a million bucks when you are done. Those suicides are murder!!!
Just out of curiosity I wore my heart rate monitor for the first time in a long time and it had my highest ever heart rate recorded in there from my old workouts which was 170. That's from running, heavy 1.5hour plus weight lifting sessions etc and the most I ever hit was 170.
Today half way through plyo cardio I was at 180 and fluctuated between 150 and 180 for nearly the entire workout. No wonder I was sweating my *** off!!! I used an online calculator and for somewhere my age (turn 31 in a few weeks) my max heart rate should be 189 so that shows you just how hard these workouts go to push your limits. Not that I regret it one bit, gotta live.
I'm only down 1 lb this week but considering I have had quite a few cheat meals this week and a bit of booze I would have been happy if I had just maintained so any loss is good. It was my wedding anniversary this week and we had been given a $200 gift voucher at this really nice restaurant. So 3 courses of fine food, a bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine between us it's no wonder I didn't lose much.
My wife came back from injury and did pure cardio with me yesterday but she still wan't 100% so she's going to pick up again with me on monday in week 2.
I'll get the diet more dialled in this week as well.
You starting week two with me Kearnzo?Comment

Re: Insanity
Got back to it today. I said screw waiting, and went full out today. Started back with the week 1 Saturday workout, Plyo Cardio. Missing 4 workouts took a toll, as I was literally drenched after the warmup. It was a struggle, but I pushed as hard as I could to get my body back in gear, as tomorrow's a day off anyways. I basically collapsed during the ski abs/in and out's.
Looking forward to tackling the rest of this program with ya Jonesy!Comment
