Well I've been playing cards at Mohegan Sun for most of today and wound up ahead $200, so that at least helps out a little bit. I guess I should just stick it out at the casino for a bit longer. Heh. I just hope the car gets fixed soon because although I'm ecstatic that the shop is giving me a loaner free of charge, the fact that it smells like a Vegas Brothel inside is kind of nasty. I miss my car.

From reading your first post things could always get worse, you could have lost everything you own in hurricane katrina like me, you could have had to bury your daughter a month later like me. Things can always be worse but you have to look at the good things you have and keep posative.

Haha. Nah. Losing money at a casino is nobody's fault but the person who lost the money. Always felt that way and always will. Thankfully, I've played poker long enough (ten years now) to maximize my potential earning. Still don't have the balls to try and do it at a high level for a profession, but the hundred dollars or so every now and then does feel good.

They could definitely be worse man.

I do understand, that sucks. And I do understand, always feeling like so much bad stuff happens to you.

For instance, I'm unemployed, and have been since May of last year. I have to pay a payment to my college every month, and can't find a job in what I graduated for. My wife, my two kids, and myself, have to live in her parents basement. But I still try really hard to think of the positives, and get rid of the negatives.

You just got to keep fighting through man. It'll get better. You're just hitting a rough patch.

Okay, I lied. I'm the one who spun out and hit a snow bank driving home from work a few days ago. Turns out that there is some serious damage to my wheel alignment, as well as some other issues. It's going to cost about $3,000 to fix my car. Good thing I had the mechanic check it out because there is no asthetic damage to the car; you'd never know something happened just by looking at the surface. Thank God I am a pretty good saver so I don't have to put this on my credit card. Can't wait to get my wheels back tomorrow.

Well, you didn't know. That's why mechanics make what they make. Good luck getting things fixed.

Back in May, I fell asleep for like 5 seconds at the wheel on the interstate. Went over to the other lane and met up with a 18 wheeler. Both of us were going at least 70mph. Miraculously, all I touched where the big rig's wheels and got back control of my car. Blew out my passenger side window (glass everywhere but not a single piece on me) and messed up that side of my windshield. Not a scratch on the 18 wheeler and the cop didn't even file a report since I agreed it was my fault. Was $2000 in damage to my car, even though I was able to drive it home just fine (new passenger side door, new windshield, buffering out of rear passenger door + labor).

Considering I could have been a flapjack on I-77, things could have definitely been worse.
