this was the collegiate championship between Duke and Notre Dame.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Sports you just can't stand to watch
NFL/College football has gotten extremely stale for me...Didn't watch one full game of both last year. I think it was the combination of ridiculous rule changes and tv timeouts(and their length) that did me in. Sprinkle in fantasy football and the "Im an expert" mentality.
Baseball
Soccer
NBA
All I watch now.Last edited by Shakedowncapo; 05-31-2010, 05:38 PM.Comment

I know we had a thread on here about the "manliest sports" maybe a year ago and, in my mind, rugby is far and away #1. That sport's brutality makes football look like a sissy sport.Comment

I'm a little afraid of getting the hell beaten out of me by some jacked up freak in an Affliction T that's 4 sizes too small, but I can't stand MMA.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

watching hockey now. I understand most of the rules, but can't pronounce many of the names.
Hockey is entertaining as hell to watch both on TV and live.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Sports you just can't stand to watch
I agree. I really wish we had a pro team in Cincinnati so I would of followed it more. I've always been interested in hockey and love going to games but with no team and not too many players that I knows it's hard to get into the sport.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

same here. If I knew more of the players, I'd probably follow it more.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Sports you just can't stand to watch
What sport cannot I not stand watching? Baseball, it is just so damned boring and to make it worse the announcers take the Hells Kitchen approach to over dramafying every pitch.
Now if I considered auto racing to be a sport I would say that, but I can't in good faith call driving in circles for 3-4 hours a sport.Comment

Re: Sports you just can't stand to watch
Nascar- there are very few things as boring as watching cars go around a track 500 times and I honestly have no idea what the appeal is. Some sports I can understand why people like it even if I don't but it just baffles me that this has any popularity at all. Even during the olympics they never show the whole marathon or long distance races, they show the beginning, cut to the middle a couple times, and then show the end. If a Nascar race was 5 laps I would probably watch it myself but 500 is ridiculous.
It would probably be easier for me to list the sports I do follow (college football, NFL, and the final 1/5 of the college basketball season) than the sports I don't (everything else). I really don't have the attention span to follow marathon seasons (MLB, NBA, NHL) and I personally hate golf, tennis, boxing, UFC, female sports, etc.Last edited by Chip Douglass; 05-31-2010, 10:17 PM.I write things on the Internet.

Re: Sports you just can't stand to watch
I think a lot of the sports hate like racing, tennis, boxing, golf, ect. just don't translate well to TV. For example, even though I like auto racing, I do find it much more exciting in person than watching on TV where I can concentrate on my favorite driver and can actually watch any car on the track I want to. TV doesn't allow this. The only thing I hate about going to races is when I get a smoker sitting near me and the wind blowing the smoke in my face (which happened a few weeks ago at Darlington).
Bowling is very fun to play and I actually enjoy watching it in person, but I just don't like it on television. Golf is fun to play, but I just don't like watching it on TV. MMA may be interesting to watch in person (I've never seen an event live), but watching guys beat the **** out of each other isn't that appealing to watch on the TV screen, at least.Last edited by superjames1992; 05-31-2010, 11:00 PM.Comment
