Interesting, In all honestly I didn't calibrate it that often which could be a problem.

I dont even know if they still put the sensors in the shoes like they did way back when nike+ started
Oh gotcha, disregard my post then. When I tried Nike+ it was with the shoe sensor.

They do. I don't wear Nike shoes but have a Velcro strap that I attach the sensor to. Weave it through my shoelaces and I'm good to go. Again, no issues with times not being accurate.

My iPod. It's a 4th generation Nano. I only use it for running/lifting; I have a armband for it and like the smaller size of the nano as it doesn't get in the way like iPhones/classic iPods tend to do.

Edit: This is what I posted on their wall:

"5 Miles for Boston from Illinois. I was running alone, but didn't feel alone."

Out of curiosity, have any of you run bare foot or with vibram five fingers?

I havent but I tried the new New Balance minimus shoes with the Vibram bottoms. Those shoes come with a warning tag stating "they cause strain to the calf foot and achilles". I showed the manager the tag and she took them back for me. Now I run in Skecher Go Run 2s.

Yeah I have enough problems with my calves that I haven't ventured too far.

I can absolutely swear by Newton's however. Whenever I feel wear/tear on my lower legs I wear them for a week and it just totally corrects all my wrongs. Super highly recommended if you don't have great form/foot stike like me.

Newton Running is the leader in natural running form and active technology in footwear. Our patented technology encourages the best form in the most responsive and cushioned shoe possible. Run faster. Run farther. Run lighter. Run Newton.

I wear these (http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/pro...tivity=running) almost every time I run. I took it slow when I first started using them, running short distances and mostly just in grass etc.

I haven't done a full marathon in them yet, but I've done a half in them, as well as off-road/trail races and everything in between. I swear by them, but I don't think I usually see anybody running marathons in them -- though I could be wrong. I've thought about getting a more traditional minimalist shoe for a marathon (I'm open to suggestions!) but I'm sort of torn on it as I've gotten so used to not wearing socks and having the feel of running with my toes free. I've thought about maybe getting Luna sandals to try out as well.

I do go on some barefoot runs, but I never go more than 2-5 miles in bare feet -- I'll sometimes warm up by starting barefoot and then slip on the Vibrams. I also never had Achilles or knee problems before I used them (or since I've started), but I just say that because I can't relate how it maybe helps or hurts if you did have injuries of those types before going to a more minimalist shoe.

Lastly, I always had more of a forefoot strike so I didn't change much by going minimalist either.

First race of 2013 is this Saturday. It's just a 5K so I'm not worried about it, although my training has been very spotty due to a heavy workload. Still, I'm hoping to improve a bit on last year's time, which was around 25:00.

Chase - I might have to check them out. Very intriguing book I am reading that encourages barefoot and vibram fivefingers. They basically explain how Nike/shoes in general have created injuries that never existed when people ran without shoes.

CJ-I have literally entered my information in 10 times and always get an error when I am in the checkout. I am going to wait and see if they ever offer the blue/yellow shirt again.

DJ- Good luck on the 5K!!!

Second half marathon of the year for me this Saturday in Wisconsin. Ran one last month (1:45) and I am still hoping to beat my PR of 1:39.

My plan after this race is to bump up to 10K's. I've been running 4-8 miles when I go out, so I'd like to challenge myself a little.
