Well, I've been playing 2K since 2K5 and it's hands down the best I've ever played in that series and just basketball games in general.
It's the one sports game where:
- I don't have to worry about tweaking sliders (using mkharsh's and they give me great stats and gameplay)
-Don't have to worry about some kind of game breaking glitch/bug
-I know that there isn't something they'll have to fix next year that annoys me
-And it has a franchise mode that isn't broken in some way or another and I can actually go through many seasons with it.
EDIT: 1 more thing to add. It's also the one sports game that IMO is actually worth the $60 price tag in terms of the value you get out of the game. One thing that bugs me with NBA games is that the seasons are so long. And if I shorten the season, it just doesn't feel right. I don't know. I've always had that problem. I don't like simming either.Indianapolis Colts

I know what you mean. That's the one thing that's great about football games is that it's totally reasonable to finish full seasons.
I still haven't played a full 82 game season in NHL or NBA, but NBA 2K11 might be the first game I do it. Doubtful though.
I can't imagine what it's like playing baseball games. 162 game seasons.

I had fun last year doing this technique. If it is a 2 game series, you play both games. If it is a 3 game series you play only the first game. If it is a 4 game series you play the first and last gameEagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

I'm still invested in NCAA as well, but I always get the itch to play a little Basketball around this time of the year and March.
Personally I didn't like the fact it seemed like it let the CPU make the correct types of passes, while I would always end up with the worst possible choice in type of pass(in stead of lobbing it to the guy going to the basket, the player would do a stupid bounce pass that would get stolen easily) a majority of the time. I felt like my teammates awareness was much lower than the other team's awareness even when I played bad teams.
The other thing was the animations. Some of them rendered certain players useless for me at times. Rudy Gay always got blocked when he had a clear lane because he'd either get way too fancy on his layups or he'd go into the stupid spin then dunk animation they put in.
I also had a lack of interest in the Jordan stuff that most people had, but that didn't have anything to do with me not liking the game. I guess it did make me slightly less amped up for it though.Originally posted by BlueNGoldComment
