My local theater is showing Scott Pilgrim vs The World from tonight on to the 14th.

I'm trying to figure out a day that would be best for me to go. I can't do Saturday/Sunday, nor can I do Tuesday/Wednesday. That seems to leave today, Monday, and Thursday.

I think I'll just go today.

Well, I've been thinking about going the shaved head route for awhile and finally had it done today. I just brought my Android to the barber shop, showed them these pics and told them to make me look like this.

This is the first time, I've had my head shaved since Junior High. I feel pretty bad *** but, my girlfriend is kind of pissed right now.

Eh, I can understand your feelings. I actually end up with an extra $1000 from financial aid. Most of mine went towards books, a graphing calculator I needed, an electric razor and food. I also bought a couple non-school related items too, but I am trying to save some of it.

I'd love to switch to another company but I have a great deal with my roommate where I only pay $12 a month for cable because I care for her dog when she's at work or on vacation, and also for doing all the yard/driveway maintenance. She doesn't want to switch so I'm pretty much stuck.

You think what your friend was bad ? Hell I will top that story. When I was in college every female with kids would get an extra $2,000 to $3,000 every semester. That crap pissed me off. Because they would just spend it all on their thugged out baby daddy.

Posted this in another thread but I figured I'd post it here too because it's awesome. I want this book!

This came through in the mail today and caught my interest. Similar to Jay-Z's upcoming book, Decoded, Understand Rap provides explanations to some of the game's most iconic quotables. The book drops today and is also available on Amazon. Peep an excerpt below. Lyric: "I was strapped wit' gats when you were cuddled wit' cabbage

Lyric: “I was strapped wit’ gats when you were cuddled wit’ cabbage patch.”
Lyric From Song “Forgot About Dre”
                On Album 2001
                By Artist Dr. Dre
Explanation: When you were still a child and had no concerns other than playing with dolls in the comfort and safety of your home, I was carrying guns around in my dangerous neighborhood.

Lyric “I ain’t pass the bar, but I know a little bit”
                Lyric From Song “99 Problems”
                On Album The Black Album
                By Artist Jay-Z
Explanation: Although I haven’t educated myself concerning the matters necessary to complete the examination lawyers take to be able to practice law, I have enough knowledge to be a very successful rapper and entrepreneur and to have sustained a level of wealth greater than many lawyers.

They deserve it. It's not easy at all to be in that kind of situation. I know first hand because my mom went through the same thing.

It's pretty sad when some of those single mothers are wasting all that money on stupid **** though.

Or they would spend it on diapers, formula, a breast pump, and other needs for their child. Very shortsighted and narrow view there, no?

We had our son in college and every extra little penny that we squeezed out of financial aid went to office visits, payments on our deductible and delivery bill (my wife was in for three days beyond giving birth and he required surgery), clothes, food, you name it. We weren't blowing it on ourselves.

Those single moms weren't spending it on their kids thats for damn sure, not most of them anyway. Instead they were spending it on junk. Everytime I turned around they just bought a $1,000 purse or a new $500 cell phone out of contract or bought a $800 pair of shoes or $300 jacket or $500 on weave or on some 24 inch rims for their boyfriend of the moment truck or $1,000 on clothes for their boyfriend.

But yet when you looked at their kids, I swear they looked like they could star in a 3rd world donate $20 a day commercial. What made people at my school even more pissed off was that half of those moms openly admitted they weren't spending that money on their kids, instead they going to spend it on getting their hair done, getting the latest clothes for them and their boyfriend or go out and buy a 50 inch tv with it.

Sure some spend it on their kids, but most single moms don't spend that extra college money on their kids. Hell even had some people LIE about how many kids they had for they could get even more free college money.

That the thing though, the college I went to, more then half of the student population was in their 20s and 30s. So you would think they would know better.

But I always looked at pell grants and grants in general like I look at welfare, you will always find people who abuse the system and people who really need it can't get it.

Everything said here is kind of true as of late. When I see a single mom be able to afford, a house, a new 60 in flatscreen, new rims, college, various vacations to locations across the country, and be able to go out and party every single weekend, something is kind of wrong with that just becasue they had a couple kids or whatever something is kind of messed up with that system. Not saying that they should be struggling, but being able to live much better than a lot of people with jobs like some of them do is wrong imo. Same thing happens with Child Support a lot of the time as well. If they actually do spend the majority of what they get to actually take care of their kids though then I'm fine with it. A lot of the females in this situation I've seen lately don't do that.

There will always be people that abuse the system. That means the system needs to be refined against abuses, or needs to be rethought on how to be effective.
