My local theater is showing Scott Pilgrim vs The World from tonight on to the 14th.
I'm trying to figure out a day that would be best for me to go. I can't do Saturday/Sunday, nor can I do Tuesday/Wednesday. That seems to leave today, Monday, and Thursday.

Well, I've been thinking about going the shaved head route for awhile and finally had it done today. I just brought my Android to the barber shop, showed them these pics and told them to make me look like this.Anyone good at the barber-shop/haircut lingo? Looking to get my head shaved down a bit, but don't quite know what to ask for. I usually just get it shaved down to a simple buzz with a 2-blade because my hair doesn't cooperate when it's longer and I like it better shorter...but I'm looking for something more like how a guy like Beckham has his shaved down (sans the ridiculous receding hairline near the temples) - I just don't know what to ask for and clearly I don't have the kind of barber shops that the famous people have:

And yes, I kinda puked a bit posting a picture of Beckham and Timberlake in the same post, but they're the first two people who popped up on a quick google search of hairstyles similar to my description.

Eh, I can understand your feelings. I actually end up with an extra $1000 from financial aid. Most of mine went towards books, a graphing calculator I needed, an electric razor and food. I also bought a couple non-school related items too, but I am trying to save some of it.So, a friend tells me that he bought a new ps3. I say, "Hell yeah, glad you saved up and bought one.". He responds with, "Naw man.. I still don't have a job.. I got my pell grant."
I kept thinking.. oh you mean the one I can't get because my parents make more than 35k combined..

I'd love to switch to another company but I have a great deal with my roommate where I only pay $12 a month for cable because I care for her dog when she's at work or on vacation, and also for doing all the yard/driveway maintenance. We had our son in college and every extra little penny that we squeezed out of financial aid went to office visits, payments on our deductible and delivery bill (my wife was in for three days beyond giving birth and he required surgery), clothes, food, you name it. Those single moms weren't spending it on their kids thats for damn sure, not most of them anyway. Instead they were spending it on junk. Everytime I turned around they just bought a $1,000 purse or a new $500 cell phone out of contract or bought a $800 pair of shoes or $300 jacket or $500 on weave or on some 24 inch rims for their boyfriend of the moment truck or $1,000 on clothes for their boyfriend.
But yet when you looked at their kids, I swear they looked like they could star in a 3rd world donate $20 a day commercial. What made people at my school even more pissed off was that half of those moms openly admitted they weren't spending that money on their kids, instead they going to spend it on getting their hair done, getting the latest clothes for them and their boyfriend or go out and buy a 50 inch tv with it.
Sure some spend it on their kids, but most single moms don't spend that extra college money on their kids. Hell even had some people LIE about how many kids they had for they could get even more free college money.Comment

That the thing though, the college I went to, more then half of the student population was in their 20s and 30s. So you would think they would know better.
But I always looked at pell grants and grants in general like I look at welfare, you will always find people who abuse the system and people who really need it can't get it.Comment

I agree with both of these statements, but in my experience,
Everything said here is kind of true as of late. When I see a single mom be able to afford, a house, a new 60 in flatscreen, new rims, college, various vacations to locations across the country, and be able to go out and party every single weekend, something is kind of wrong with that just becasue they had a couple kids or whatever something is kind of messed up with that system. Not saying that they should be struggling, but being able to live much better than a lot of people with jobs like some of them do is wrong imo. Same thing happens with Child Support a lot of the time as well. If they actually do spend the majority of what they get to actually take care of their kids though then I'm fine with it.
