I saw you mention that on twitter or in OT awhile back and meant to go buy it. I take it you feel it's a good read?

I've been reading American Psycho recently. I have read most of it before, just never finished it. Anyway, the middle of the book really ramps up on the crazy.

Any suggestions on what I should read next? I bought Godfather recently, but am wanting to read and finish No Country for Old Men. Choices.

I read The Stranger aka Le Estrange by Albert Camus.

May be late on that but it was interesting to say the least.

I also recommend reading the play No Exit. Its ideas creep me out.

Is the second Jurassic Park book any good? I read the first back in 04, sadly that was the last book I read all the way through on my own.

I've been reading The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan recently. It quite effectively angers me.

I finished American Psycho. Aside from imagining the characters from the movie when reading the dialogue, I felt the two are completely different, especially in structure. I love how the book itself is arranged and its non-linear structure. It felt like I was reading somebody's journal rather than a story in a book. I'm not at all convinced that everything that happened or that was talked about in the book actually happened.

I'm currently reading The Godfather, but haven't gotten that far into it yet.

I will be going to the library at the end of the week and plan to pick up this book:

It looks interesting. I'll give some thoughts in a couple weeks or so.

I've decided that I will read books I remember from high school years ago since I just ended up using cliffnotes to get by and never actually read.

Ended up finishing Lord of the Flies tonight, not sure what I'm going to read next but that was a very good start to the high school book restart.

Did you guys ever read Catcher in the Rye? Really good book. That reminds me I should find a copy and read it again in the future.

Blasted through 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' in two days as I'm laid up with a nasty cold. Amazing read!

Started the next one late last night and have a feeling I be done with all three by the end of the week. I can't put my Kindle down! It's a page turner but not in the hokey way like a Dan Brown novel (at least 'The DaVinci Code'), where chapters end with something not far removed from "the door opened and...", not to mention how criminally short some of the chapters are.

Reading "Outlaw" by Angus Donald. It's the old Robin Hood tale except Robin is more like Vito Corleone than the Good Samaritan. Brutal and engrossing.

I also have been reading David Gemmell books. His writing is great for reminding us to have courage and proceed without fear.

Awaiting Manning Marable's (RIP) two decades in the making bio entitled Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention that released a week ago from amazon. Also really thinking about picking up a kindle, and the thousands of free classics that come with it.

I was the exact same way while reading the trilogy. It'd be like 1 in the morning and i'd keep saying "alright, i'll read one more chapter, but I just couldn't put my kindle down.
