Finished The Greatest Game Ever Played and it may be the best sports book I've ever read (along with Shadow Boxer). It was an unbelievable read. I'm reading another book from the author about Bobby Jones and it's also really good....
The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!

I started reading The Bourne Identity this week. I've read it before, but its been so long ago that I barely remember it. I'm currently in the beginning where he is at the bank and **** is about to go down.

I'm finishing up on Ovid's Metamorphoses. Sections are short so if you enjoy mythology, it's a good book to pickup because you can come back to it whenever.

Probably going to read some Tolkien next.

So the Percy Jackson series was GREAT! The last two books especially. If you like mythology, check them out.

Now it's a re-read of the first four books of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and then tackling 'A Dance with Dragons'.

I'm half-way through 1984. Slow start but it is starting to really pick up. I hope to finish it by next week.

You should give Brave New World a shot if you enjoy 1984.

I finished 1984 last night and enjoyed it so I'll add Brave New World to my "to buy" list.

I started reading 100 Things Buckeyes Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die. My dad sent it to me and it is an interesting and easy read on Buckeye history and traditions.

I've never read any Tolkien before so would you guys suggest reading the Silmarillion first? Other than being great literature, I'm interested in Tolkien as he created a new mythology which ties into my educational background.

                        No...god no...

Start with The Hobbit, followed by The Lord of the Rings (and the appendices), and then read The Silmarillion. The latter has a lot of depth and is a fine read, but there is a lot of prose and it drags at points. You'll be bored of Middle-earth before you even get started!

I didn't love the LOTR books as much as I though I would. The Hobbit was great but the LOTR books kinda dragged at times for me and I don't find reading whole page songs and poems from an elf or hobbit interesting so it wasn't my cup of tea. Literally the only book/movie conversion where I have liked the movies better that I can think of.

I just finished Keith Richards autobiography 'Life' and now I'm starting on Jay Z's book called 'Decoded'.

Anybody read Robert Ludlum's The Matarese Circle? I was thinking of giving that a go when I finish the Bourne trilogy.

I bought a hardcover edition of LotR a couple months ago but am saving it for some Fall reading; though now I'm debating if I should buy The Hobbit and read that first.

                              A million times YES!!

And Jonesy, I agree about the songs. But you know what, and initially as I'm reading them aloud to my son, they get annoying. But I've come to appreciate that it fills in more of Tolkien's world, so I still read them (read, not sing, not rhyme...read).

Yeah I can understand that and it really was brilliant in a way the depth of the world that he was trying to create. I just didn't enjoy reading them so I skipped a large portion of them. They weren't bad books but were maybe even a bit too in depth for me at the time. Also I read them as a teenager with a short attention span so I might like them more now.

Totally agree about The Hobbit, I want to read it again myself. Can't wait for the movie version of that to come out as well, it's a fantastic story.
