Yeah, I'm also trying to get down to 200, but certainly from a higher number, heh. I'm hoping to be 200 by Thanksgiving. My feeling in picking Thanksgiving is that I want everyone in my family to see me and say "DAMN" because I've literally lost 1/5th of my body weight. That and I don't want to try to have to deal with it over the holidays.

I know BMI isn't that important, but with my height (6'3"), 200 is just barely overweight (right at 25). I'll look at it down the road and see what I want to do. My goal is just 200 right now.

I can't wait until my pants feel looser and my shirts start to feel longer. That will be a great day.
I started working out seriously again last year and being able to buy smaller shirts is the best/worst feeling ever. I've had to spend a lot of money buying new clothes cause my old shirts were so huge.

I just realized that I never posted in here but I have about 15 pounds to lose until sugarpalooza 2011. Last year I lost 40 pounds and this year my goal is to get down to 185. I was down to 197 before I went to New Orleans for Christmas break and gained about 10 pounds. Right now I'm at 203.

        Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

I'm down to 213 now. So 4 pounds lost so far. I'm doing mostly what Martix is doing and just watching portions. Lately I've been averaging only about 2 meals a day with a snack thrown in. Usually the snack is an apple or a sandwich. Also haven't had nearly as much fast food lately. Been running now as well. So glad to not be sick anymore which is what led to me not running in the first place.

I still really need to get to a gym though. The only places that offer a discount to me though are the Y and the Bally total fitness near my college.

Week 1 of P90x done. I'm down 4lbs. but I bet that I've actually lost a pound or two of fat more. Starting to gain a little bit of muscle judging by how sore I've been this entire week.

I met a girl so naturally I started losing weight. Lost about 5 lbs since last week, just cut out the junk food and cut down on the diet soda. I had been down to about 235 last summer but gained about 15 lbs back, back down to 245.

My Goal has always been 200 but it does seem hard to reach. I think i will Enroll myself in the VA weight loss program as I hear that helps.

                Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

Well, scratch the dumbbells from my workout. We got considerably less for tax returns than I thought, so the PowerBlock is out of the equation.

I guess i'll be sticking to kettlebells. I've been looking all over the net for a good kettlebell workout the last couple days, and found one that seems to be pretty killer. I'd have to adjust it to my strength at the moment, as I likely wouldn't even be able to finish it (the goal is to finish the workout as fast as you can, as it's a kettlebell 'challenge').

                25 v-ups
                50 snatches
                25 push-ups
                50 swings
                50 burpees
                50 clean and press
                50 mountain climbers

I figure if I start with fewer reps of the difficult kettlebell exercises, and up the reps through the weeks. I plan on trying to complete the pushups, burpees, v-ups, and mountain climbers.

I like the workout, as it would be a fairly quick routine. If I were to do this 3-4 times a week, do you guys think i'd see results, or is it too limited? Most every kettlebell workout I find online, you have to pay good money for, and i'm not gonna do that. Thanks guys!

                    Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

Man, I set myself up on a 2300 calorie diet plan, and i'm actually having trouble using up 2300 calories. With mostly all healthy food, it's tough to fill up on 2300 calories without having to spend a crazy amount of money on groceries.

Yesterday, I was satisfied all day, yet finished the day with under 2000 calories. My snacks were really low calorie, such as fat free chocolate pudding (80 cals), Triscuits (barely 100 cals), etc. Plus, I had a HUGE salad for lunch (from a bagged salad), and the salad itself is only 15 calories for like half a cup. The light ranch is the biggest calorie abuser in the salad at 80 cals per serving.

One thing I do like is a serving of Skippy Natural Peanut Butter on Great Value Brand Whole Wheat bread. That comes out to like 300+ calories and fills you up, but I don't want to eat a ton of peanut butter all day just to fill up my calories.

Any suggestions on healthy ways to fill up my diet? Probably the dumbest question you guys will hear, but I gotta keep it as cheap as possible while sticking to the diet. On M/W/F, i'll be able to add 200 or so calories for the Gatoride Prime before my workout and Gatorade Recover after my workout. Thanks fellas!

Doh! Totally forgot about those from my previous diet. I'd have like two servings of Smokehouse Almonds at work, which is about 400 calories or so I believe.

                          Plus, they're delicious.

Yeah almonds / nuts are good.

I'm a strong believer in not forcing yourself to eat more cals just for the sake of it though. I mean if you are full and satisfied on 1800-2000 cals why eat more just to meet the number?

I agree. There's probably gonna be a day you eat 2400 cals and are still hungry.

I don't doubt it. I had another day like that today. Granted, I just started my shift at work and had to take a nap at 6, so it cut the number of hours I was awake for the day down by four, as it is every Sunday. But, I only had like 1700 calories before my nap, and had a fiber bar about 20 minutes ago, and I feel fine.

I'm just happier this time around with the diet. It's not like last time, where I felt I was torturing myself. I'm not focusing so freakin much on what is perfect for me to eat. I'm limiting my calories, but not going crazy over it. I'm starting my kettlebell workouts tomorrow as well. Found a good weekly routine using kettlebell supersets, and am gonna mix it in with some kettlebell tabata training.
