Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
This is a cool thread...
Kinda a funny story with regards to this. I was at 245 and about 5 '11 in February and now I'm at 165. Im in college at Ohio State and instead of going out and drinking every Thu, Fri, Sat (and occasional Wed.) nights I stopped drinking started eating healthy. While sitting at the house I started making rosters and remembered about my OS account. So while friends were out partying I ended up making rosters for MLB the Show 11. It worked out because I wasn't 21 yet anyways but now that I'm 21 I'll probably go out more, Im just worried about keeping the weight off when school starts up again in a month.Updates on Twitter: 2KstauffComment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
I'm seriously lacking motivation! I used to be the type of guy that would lift 5X a week and run 4-5X a week and feel horrible about myself if I missed a day. Now after a stressfull period at work (it's better now) and having an 8 month old, I've put on about 50 lbs (used to be 205 at about 9-10% bodyfat 6ft tall) I can't find the energy to get started. I get home from work (long commute) and I'm just ready to crash. Anybody have any tips for motivation or getting my energy levels back up?Battle.net: xXKING08Xx

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Either you want to lose the weight or you don't. If you want to, you obviously have the tools/knowledge to do so from past experience. For someone that was carrying that much lbm, losing the weight shouldn't be problematic, you already have a good base to start with.Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Take a hard look at your diet and be less sedentary would be a start. Get your 8 hours of sleep (or whatevers normal). With a kid, thats never easy. That would be a starting point and then see if you can find time to exercise a few times a week. Probably will have to force yourself for a while. I'm having to do that now working 11 hour days currently. Not fun.Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
I'd look into trying to get something done in the morning if you can. That way when things come up later in the day (and lets face it they always do) you've already done the work for the day.
At the end of the day losing fat is at least 90% diet imo so regardless of how busy you are you can still lose weight just by eating healthier (cutting out sugary drinks is huge) and limiting calories regardless of the time you have to workout etc. A lady I worked with lost 65lbs in one year and literally didn't do a single bit of exercise outside of her normal day to day activities. Sure exercise has 50 million benefits and if you want to be healthier not just thinner I'd highly recommend it but the number 1 priority would be getting your diet in check and the results will come.
I slip up with motivation myself quite regularly but at the end of the day no-one but ourselves can do this and being a healthy role model for your child is a great motivator (I know it was for me).Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
My first day of giving up beef, pork and poultry. Ate Tuna twice today and I have a ton of Alaskan salmon to cook for the future. Got a lot of veggies and a juicer will be coming in tomorrow and will be doing a lot of veggie juices.
I got a lot of good protein product my dad sent me, he owns a max muscle so I'll be using a lot of that for my other protein source. I want to see if I can give up meat all together but I love fish too much.
I went and worked out for the first time in awhile, did triceps today and did 30 minutes on the eliptical. Will be going again tomorrow, I'm glad I have a workout partner who's also dedicated in going to the gym so its gonna be a lot easier for me to keep it up.Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
My dad who is also diabetic has been doing it for the past 9 months and I've never seen him so healthy, its inspirational actually. He has completely changed and first time I've ever seen him truly happy and energetic. He's stopped taking his meds and for the first time ever in my life he's been a pleasant person and he owes it to his diet now.Comment

Re: OS Weight Loss 2011
Awesome man good stuff. It's interesting you noted how your dad's diet has affected his personality. I have kinda noticed that myself. When I'm eating like crap and especially drinking too much I'm a more negative person and have a shorter fuse than when I'm eating healthy etc.
GL with it!Comment
