Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
How often do you see a flop in average tournament?
Anything less than 10% is far too tight and isn't profitable long term and makes your play extremely predictable.
Anything between 10% and 15% is on the tighter side of solid and can be very profitable in the long term. Makes bluffing easier and gives you a more stable table image.
Anything between 15% and 20% is on the looser side of solid and can be profitable if you are a very good player post-flop. Makes bluffing a bit more difficult, but people will hero call you when you have the goods.
Anything more than 20% is far too loose and is a first class ticket to busto.
Basically, right around 15% is about optimal and allows you to change gears a bit too. It will also make it easier to bluff in certain situations as well as get called on your value bets as well.
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 141 hands and saw flop:
- 14 out of 31 times while in big blind (45%)
- 5 out of 31 times while in small blind (16%)
- 16 out of 79 times in other positions (20%)
- a total of 35 out of 141 (24%)
Keep in mind we were three-handed for awhile.Comment

Small sample size, but the one I just played (finished 3rd of 9), the stats were:

I like to be in the 30-35% range. It becomes exploitable in the endgame, your range is so narrow."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Thats why high stakes is crazy cause its nearly impossible to have sound BR managment playing 1000/2000 blinds or more."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
Just a general question: If I was interested in joining a site, which one should I go to?
I played full tilt for awhile, but realized that I was drinking too much while I played, got lucky on a big all in when I was not favored, and was happy to pull out my original money (needed it for bills). It has been awhile now, and every once in awhile FTP will send me out a promo to come back. Could one of you more experienced guys on here shed light on the pros and cons of Full Tilt and Poker Stars and any other sites of interest? ThanksComment

Re: ATTN: OS Poker Players
Low, probably around 100 in something like .50/$1 limit to start then (hopefully) building up progressively as my bank roll increases. I reread the thread and it seems pokerstars is the choice for that level. Is that simply because more people=more people who don't know what they are doing? Or is it more than that? Thanks again!Comment
