My wife is trying to get in touch with her mother right now. I am really hoping she was at her home in Hiroshima. (Southwest of Tokyo)

Hiroshima is nowhere near where the damage is. She'll be fine.

Hiroshima is nowhere near where the damage is. She'll be fine.

Yeah, I know. Only thing is she travels a lot, so not sure if she was at home. No answer from her so far. Hoping for the best.

I just woke up in utter shock. I feel for all the people in the way of the tsunami and all the people affected in Japan.

I can't even wrap my brain around this.

- Areas north of Point Conception will likely experience a tsunami inundation between 3 to 7 feet . Highest wave inundation to 7 feet can be expected in Port San Luis and Pismo Beach. Expected tsunami wave height of 2 feet from Santa Barbara to Long Beach, reports the National Weather Service. (via NOAA)

Just waking up to this and holy ****.

The list of things damaged/destroyed being reported on FOXNews is insane, this is going to take a LONG time for Japan to recover.

Just terrible, some of these pictured are literally jaw dropping.

I just heard that the wave is expected to be 5 feet but it's very localized and some areas that get will have up to 10 feet waves crashing down on them.

Pretty scary stuff.
