All reports are estimating a little over 1,000 dead. I hope it's not worse than that, but after watching these videos I can't help but think it has to be MUCH higher than that. Here's a video from CNN of an entire town that no longer exists. Unreal.

Obviously, my thoughts are with all those affected, but let's not act like it hasn't happened before.Comment

Re: Japanese Earthquake and Tsunamis (Pacific Warnings)
I find it hard to believe the death toll is anything more then 1,000. 50 countries effected and most had no means to warn the people of the danger that was coming.Comment

8 feet of land movement, how about 4 inches of a planet axis shift. I didn't know an earthquake could do that.

Reports from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy estimated the 8.9-magnitude quake shifted the planet on its axis by nearly 4 inches (10 centimeters).Aaron

Jeez, this has to be the worst thing any nation can go through
Even the aftershocks should be classified as earthquakes proper and not just aftershocks.

Re: Japanese Catastrophies
This is one of the craziest things i've ever seen. I was at work yesterday around 3AM EST when one of the guys at work bursted into my office and told me to go onto Youtube. Wound up with basically everyone at work huddled around the computer with a look of shock on their faces.
The videos are so surreal to watch. And now with the threat of a major disaster at the nuclear plant, things may only get worse.Comment

The whole thing is sad on so many levels... and now with the Nuclear Plant explosion... Unreal.Comment

This is gonna be one of those things, I have a feeling, where most everyone will remember where they were when they first heard/saw what was happening. This type of destruction in such a highly populated area is unimaginable.Comment
