Fair enough. I didn't know if it was a movie reference or what. They suddenly just started chirping it in class for different things and I was like, "Ah well."

High school. You're right though, stupid water bottle flipping thing for example. I'm glad a kid did it in a talent show, now leave it be. They won't stop doing it in class!

As far as your latter comment, I suppose I couldn't care less if they make the next cool social media fad or what have you, though it may be annoying. But we certainly are trying to shape these young individuals to be genuine for future endeavors. We wouldn't be where we are technologically (or otherwise) without the great minds before us. I just hope we can continue down that path.

Instead they are just copying others. Everywhere. Every post in this thread is an indication of that.

      "And that's because..."

You're lying bloodied, on the ground, metaphorically speaking, praying for mercy....AND THAT'S BECAUSE... I took your @$$hat off and decked you, again metaphorically speaking!

That's how use the term! In case you were conceived cerca 2000.

I don't know how I didn't post this before, but referring to a no hitter as a "no-no".

I'm sure it's in here already, and I know for a fact that I say it a ton, but it still drives me insane: "If I'm being perfectly honest with you" or some variation of that.

^^^ For me that's pretty much up there with starting a sentence with "You know what?....." My brother does this constantly. Which additionally is up there with people who continually ask and answer their own questions in an interview or conversation.

Selfies, things being "lit", twerking, it's just annoying to me. Meme wise, I'm already over those Spongebob mocking memes. It was only created in May I believe, but it's already gotten old.

lol I know, people will post it anyways so might as well do it for them...

I feel like if the first post in this thread was, "slang" or "newest "hip" term" then we could close this.

Eh, what's the difference? I mean after all, we're not talking about terms like "vo-dee-oh-do". Certain terms just don't sit right with some people...that's all.

Ya, but were talking about more of the spoken word here unlike selfies and memes. But now that you mention it, the word "twerking" in and of itself makes my list, especially with it being introduced to the culture by Miley Cyrus. Speaks a bit to the dumbing down of our culture.

I can say with full confidence(not that it matters really)...that Miley Cyrus did not introduce twerking to the culture.
