Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
People using verse in the place of versus.
I don't know if this is a new thing or what but I'm hearing it everywhere now. I first heard it on Big Brother over the summer and have since heard it on Survivor, MTV's The Challenge and ESPN.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
"Sucker Punch" when they just mean "punch". It's not a "sucker punch" unless you sneak up behind someone and clock them and they never saw it coming. Anything else is just a punch.Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Personal one I just realized. For some reason my wife, after all this time, says "Hun" when talking to me sometimes. My parents used to use this and I guess I don't want my wife referring to me as my parents referred to each other, if that makes sense. :PComment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Me too! My step-mother uses it, a lot! She thinks she's cool, she's not.
The thing I hate the worst though...when someone calls me "dude". God I hate that word, especially when someone is calling me that.Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
I don't like that it's been normalized to the extent that it's not even eyebrow-raising when someone calls you that in a professional or semi-formal setting. I'm not a stodgy old codger (at least, I don't think I am...) but there's a difference between how you speak when you're hanging out with your friends at the bar and when you are conversing in a business or even a non-friend setting. I'm not looking to be addressed formally by the high school kid working summers at Best Buy, but I don't necessarily expect to be called "dude" when being asked if I needed any help.Comment

I mean what's the highest "percentage" of agreement that means the most? infinity percent? people are weird
edit: maybe instead of the 100 emoji it should be ∞ , that's the realistLast edited by l3ulvl; 12-19-2017, 12:18 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
I had a guy call me on the phone where I work and asked for something that we do not carry. When I told him that we do not carry this particular item he asks, "is that your final answer?"
Are you serious?!
First of all that phrase hasn't been relevant in like 10 years. Second of all, it wasn't cool or hip in its prime. And finally, I could've reached through the phone and choked and/or slapped him I would have.
I thought it was stupid back then and I find it moronic to use now.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
