Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Great thread.
I must admit, I've used some of these. I try to stay away from the words that have made their way into the mainstream. I used "Cool story dude!" back in the days of AIM. Now that it and variations of it are in the mainstream... I stay away.
I pretty much hate all the internet slang. Some of it is funny sometimes, but it goes on so much it gets annoying.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

"Well played, sir. Well played."
Everytime I see or hear it, I think we were just set back 500 years. Sounds like some kind of "vintage English" to me.
Okay is slowly getting up there. My math professor uses the damn word after every firetrucking sentence. I counted how many times he said okay for the first fifteen minutes of class on Wednesday; I was in the hundreds when I quit.ST. LOUIS RAMS FRANCHISE (MADDEN 2010)

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
When someone starts off a sentence..."I hate to say it, but....."
They don't hate to say it all. They are relishing in the shame of your defeat. They are about ready to screw the lid off the salt shaker and pour the salt right in your wounds.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
When people say "this pleases me" or something like that. No one gives a **** if it pleases you or not.
Also, "this is true" instead of "that is true"
When people say "though" or "doe" at the end of sentences or thoughts that don't have a need for that.
The "that awkward moment" ****.
I could destroy this thread with suggestions if I wanted to.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 10-10-2011, 02:30 PM.Comment
