Ok..my next entry w/ a sports theme (while watching a golf match):

"Ohhhh.....that was a good golf shot...."

    What's next?

    "Great basketball pass!"
"Now, THAT was a good bowling strike!"
"He played tremendous football defense there!"
"Did you see the swimming strokes he was taking??!!"

This is one hell of a forum post.

      "I don't disagree"

Could've saved yourself two syllables with a simple "I agree".

When people say "yous". Just say "you".

Any time someone says "swag" or "I <3 haters". Shut-up you don't like "haters" you just say that to make yourself feel good.

In a similar vein, I find it hilarious when people say they hate haters. I've always found that extremely contradictory.

For some reason, that's more like pleading the 5th than actually agreeing with it. When I hear someone saying that, it seems as if they aren't agreeing with you, but don't have a good enough argument to disagree.

It also works in the opposite way. You know you're right and the other guy is a ****ing moron not worth the time and aggravation. Works well on drunken tools that don't know any better.

daflyboys last post reminded me of one.

                    "grand slam home run"

Almost all announcers say it and it's ridiculous. A grand slam is a home run. You're repeating yourself.

You don't hear "6 point touchdown", "1 point goal", or "1 point free throw" because the score is built into the term. The home run is part of the term grand slam, you don't have to say it twice.

Ah, I can see this being important for just casual fans. Most people know a home run means the ball went over the fence. But they probably don't know that a grand slam is a home run, just with the bases loaded. It's a "special" home run.

Not necessary, but I see the point.

But it's not shouldn't of, it's shouldn't've and its not would of, it's would've. Yeah, I know there's no such thing as a double contraction in the first example.

I think that's generally used when someone is expressing an opinion on something where their opinion may not be agreement with the majority of people.

Saying you don't disagree isn't necessarily saying you agree. It means that though you don't totally disagree with someone, you may not totally agree with them either but sounds a little more neutral than saying 'I don't agree'

This reminds me of one too.

Gary Thorne referring to multi-run home runs as "2 RBI home runs" or "3 RBI home runs". Unfortunately because Gary is the main MASN broadcaster, I am stuck with this each season.
