Yo.. I hate community college. My professor can't read. Like, she'll skip words, or say words that aren't even there. And she doesn't even correct herself. It's like she's dyslexic, which isn't funny, but it's annoying when she's supposed to be the person teaching us.
Speaking of teaching, I'm learning nothing. If I'm paying for this ****, I want to be challenged. I'm just doing this for a stupid piece of paper. I really feel like this isn't for me, but I need the stupid diploma/degree to do what I want to do in life. Which I don't even know what that is! I shouldn't be complaining, I just started going back to school... but it's discouraging.

Yeah, three of the four classes I'm taking are like that...it's all stuff I learned in high school and it's not really a challenge at all. It's quite a difference from Bloomsburg, where pretty much every class is difficult as hell.
Is that only a Comcast DVR problem? Because my DVR (DirecTV) still records things when I turn it off, don't know how the hell it does, but it does.
Well, at least the blue light is off, not sure if that means the DVR is actually "off".
It appears to be. I tried turning it off while it was recording Modern Family tonight and it said that turning it off would stop the recording. I don't see the point of having it on all the time, especially when this wasn't an issue before.

What kind of ab exercises are you guys doing? I'm to the point where my stomach is noticeably flat, but it needs toning as it still appears a bit flabby.
Yea, he should move all around the country, and then for some weird reason settle down later in life in Vermont and keep track of what cars people drive.

Maybe the way it's setup now is that if it's set to record something and it's off, it turns itself on?
Who knows, sounds messed up either way. Good luck with that man, I know I'd be pissed.

I treat mine like any other muscle. To get it stronger and noticeable better looking, I do weighted, or resistant exercises. One of my favorites for a great burn is getting a dumbbell, resistant band, steep decline thingy, whatever they're called. Wrap the resistant band around the dumbbell behind you, get on the decline and do sit-ups while holding the band in your hand. Make sure it's a thick band and is very resistant. Also, do 9, then on the 10th go up like normal, but stay up as long as possible while slowly, but naturally coming down due to the resistant bad. Then repeat.
It really gets me burning just after a few reps. I also like getting in a sit-up position and doing a crunch, but bringing up a leg and touching right elbow to left knee and vice-versa. That's the only nonresistant/weight exercise I do for core.

Well that's good to know. I think part of community college is weathering the storm and just getting through the BS so you can get to a real university.

If only I had mad skillz, son.
Seriously though, going to school is my plan. I'm just using this forum as a vent for my frustration. I know education is the key to greater things for myself, especially in this day & age. The journey just sucks. My passions are music & sports, just like every one else, but my major is computer information systems because I figured it'd be viable. I just feel like I'm settling, or something.
Yeah, I do need a plan.

It's like that at other places, too. I had a bunch of friends that went to a Penn State branch campus and said it was like taking glorified high school classes (one of them drank literally every day, showed up to class drunk and got a 2.5, and no I'm not making that up). It didn't prepare them at all for UPark.
