^^^ Back to back Ricky Rubio avi's ftw....

I never got the appeal of smoking and have probably tried two cigarettes in my life time but I sure can drink like a fish when the mood takes me. Like these guys have said moderation is the key.

Funnily enough moderate drinkers actually live longer than those that abstain from drinking altogether:

Is your' wife a dude or did she not get the memo ?

        Spoiler

I eat fairly healthy throughout the week and minimize my calories and up my protein intake. I'm in the gym 4-5 days throughout the week, but I usually go out on Saturday and have a few drinks and maybe smoke a cigar. I don't think I'm unhealthy at all...

Like someone mentioned before, It's all about moderation.

Right at the end of 2011 I was in Walmart, finishing in the checkout. I looked over the span of the store and noticed how worn down people looked. Not just in terms of being over weight, although it is a symptom. But in general, people look so unhealthy.

That may sound sort of snobbish, but it does concern me that our society is really drifting.

Yeah I have noticed that too. I don't know if it the combo of more stress than ever and poor diet's or whatever but people do generally seem 'worn out' for lack of a better term. Nearly everyone seems kinda lethargic and depressed when I am in a large mall or somewhere similar.

I think most people skip breakfast or grab their Starbucks on the run(empty calories) and have a big lunch at noon, feel drowsy at work, come home and pig out at home. I think that is why this country is looking lethargic.

yeah it's amazing how much extra energy you can get by exercising etc. Almost seems counter-intuitive ie doing less should equal more energy but's amazing the difference it can make.

I think our culture has slipped into a post-greed state. It's just a philosophy of mine, and would like the thoughts of others, but I seriously believe that greed has destroyed us.

My conclusion is that you have individuals that give into "having more than what is sufficient" and then pursue that desire on their own terms. And everyone participating plays off of each other. Take for instance the corporation that sells their product to the consumer that wants more and more of that corporation's product. The corporation will start with marketing and market their product. They will use all kinds of marketing. They will try their best to make you believe their product is essential. And when they are successful, you have a large group of consumers that do not practice discipline in consuming. Which in turn profits the corporation, but the corporation then finds ways to create their product for the masses. They cut costs the best they can. Meanwhile, the consumer is continuously indulging in the product with little holding back. It's a vicious cycle of greed that knows no boundaries and has poisoned our society.

And I say all of that being a capitalist. I'm just anti-globalization. These superstores house these consumers that look like sheep going to the slaughter.
