Really? You're taking things a bit too literally it seems to me.

I know I could do it, my best friend did it for most of High School and just now recently stopped because it became a hassle in college.

Whether I would want to? No. Too much stuff to give up that I love to eat., I'd have to redo my entire line up of meals I can make, etc.

I couldn't survive without some good ol southern:

This thread is inspiring me to finally start on my goal I made to get back into football shape. I'm 5'9" 175lbs, i'm not necessarily overweight but since i stopped football i've been developing a little bit of a gut.

Hit up the gym, and being playing a lot of pick up bball lately for cardio. Try to eat healthier but it's hard right now until I get my own place.

          RE: Making kids play sports

It bothers me even more when I see young boys that have no interest in playing sports. Call me old fashioned but we need to reel our young men back in. THrough good coaching we can help make that happen. Instilling discipline and team/family values. I don't know I just think we are allowing our kids to get too damn soft, needy and spoiled. (boys especially).

Lol yeah, during football I was around 190. However that was all muscle and little fat. I need to trim the fat again then overtime maybe work on the muscle.

Agree 100%, there is a lot of things that have changed in America to make it this way. Being too PC, suing anyone for anything, etc... But yes, this country has gotten to soft overall and its now getting to the kids.

Sports teaches a lot of good values that can carry on later in life, but I'm not going to force my future kids to play a sport if they don't want to.

The presence will be there cause I will try to get them to.

I don't think Colts means to literally force kids to play. More like getting actual PE back. Im about 30 now, and I remember having to do sports in school (PE) and whatnot. Now that is gone, I remember having to run, balance beam, ropes, etc. Now from what I hear/read, kids can elect not to do PE (if its avail) and if it is a mandatory class, they don't have to do the exercises.

Edit: Now looking at his other post, maybe he does, lol.

Re: This country is dying a slow and painful death health wise.

Lazy parents breed lazy kids....only bc the parents won't get up and do stuff with them. That, and junk food is cheap. Eating healthy costs a little more. That said, I have no sympathy for a fat adult with type 2 diabetes, back back, heart disease, and all the other things that usually accompany these lazy pigs. Cry me a river...

Kids need activity!!!! The school systems need more emphasis here. Hell, I workout during my lunch break at work bc it helps my mind function. Anyway....stopping my rant now.

Eating healthy does not have to cost more. I know it helps that I live dead center in the heart of Ag country and our produce prices are a fraction of what the rest of the nation pays but it can be cheaper in the long run to shop and eat healthy.

The typical cost for a well balanced meal in our house is just over a dollar a meal.

The thing that sucks with eating healthy in Alaska is they freeze the fruit and then unfreeze them when they get to the grocery store and then they last like 3 days. The price is whatever but when they dont last long and arent fresh its hard to get excited or want to eat healthy.

                            Disagree!

Some staples of my diet which are expensive as heck:

                            Ground beef: $6/lb minimum
Chicken: $5/lb minimum (only like breast...lol)
                            Almond/cashew butter: $6/jar minimum

I've found it to be very expensive.

I think grains are the cheapest source of food. I can't eat them!

We're going to attempt to deal with local farmers so we can get fresh meat/eggs from them. Also try and get fruits/vegetables/herbs.
